COMPANY IS MICRO MANAGEMENT CITY!!!

Sounds like Sage has gone down the same road as all the other great companies. Hire all the great managers, directors, and VPs from other companies. What do these great leaders do? They bring in all their great best practices from where they worked before. Use of 3rd party vendors because these leaders can't make their own decisions based on the company and the products now being sold the need external support. Use Salesforce.com to build account plans and track calls - but all they are creating is an environment where its a what can we make up today to make me look better than others - fake calls, fake plans, fill out the surveys and give them the answers they want. Use the same vendors that all the other big pharmas use to coach and bring in all their BS recycled best practices. Primary care mentality across the board = micro management.

I have to step in as well. There are no overly entitled sales people on here. We are experienced professionals with years of experience and we don't need to be micromanaged. It is that simple.
You all should consider yourself very lucky. I work in California for most likely, the worst manager of all. Jon Coktoasten based in Stockton, CA is the worst I have seen in my 25 years in the industry. Other than his strikingly good looks, he is an empty suit and major micromanager. I am looking to leave the first decent opportunity that comes my way.

Everyone really respects anonymous posters who are too limp to complains F2F with anyone. Why not find better jobs if you are so terrific instead of whining.

F2F to anyone? Are you for real???? Don't worry yourself, as a very large percentage of people are looking for other jobs now. Management knows many are very unhappy here and asking employees why. They know why.
We will begin to ask you the same question. Why are you anonymous? You're the pot calling the kettle black. If you are so happy working at Sage and this toxic environment then why the hell are you on here? Why would you take the time to come on here or even care? You are the worst pathetic kind. You come on here and troll the board making statements not to respect anonymous posts, yet you're anonymous. You are the pathetic one along with all of your other two-bit cronies. Come on big boy. Show your balls and tell us who you are. You're such a hypocrite.
There is no whining here. PEOPLE ARE PISSED. Employees were sold a bill of goods that ended up being a complete lie. Employees gave up a lot to work here based on those lies. The fact is Sage hasn't lived up to anything that was described in the interviews. Sage absolutely is not a biotech company and never will be. The sales department is run by unseasoned managers with poor records and management styles. Truth hurts, just like reading your absolutely moronic pea-brain post.
You are either an RBD trolling this board, an AD trolling this board, or just an idiot. Which one is it?

Since we are no longer hiring second wave, I think the company should also be fiscally responsible and cut some middle management. Do away with one area manager, and cut back on RBD’s so that each RBD has 8 or 9 TBS and KAM’s total. It’s going to be at least two years before 217- this is a long time to keep paying big paychecks to unnecessary people. And no- riding with a TBS and KAM every three weeks is not a job well-done.

Yes! We all have been talking about this. There is no need to have a manger for a team of 5 or 6 people. Absolutely ridiculous. There shouldn't have been as many to begin with. If they continue with that many ride-a-longs, they will lose everyone and angry the customers.

Yes- WISDOM!!!! Listen up- Thin it out up top.

Big mistake. I am already looking for a new job now and know a few others that I trust are extremely unhappy too. The managers here are way too intense with the frequency of calls and ride-a-longs. This is what big-pharma primary care companies do, not seasoned top producing employees in a culture that was described so differently during the interview process and that managers would be hands-off. We know what needs to be done and don't need to be shadowed. Customers find this type of visit as cringeworthy and not wanted. Trainer Chuck, you are WAY too intense and need to cut back. No one wants to work in a toxic environment where they feel they are constantly being monitored.

The lady I interviewed with was over the top micro. It was an easy decision considering the comp at plan.

GLTA!

I saw you with your manager in doctor Rosenpenis office. You guys were talking to Freda the secretary and she told you to go to Jim Swarthows office but you guys couldn't get there because your car hit a water buffalo and that knocked out your Fetzer falve. I swear John is 6'9" with that afro.

Well said. Just doing a numbers count of KAM and TBS positions, the number of RBD's should be reduced by at least 40%. At this level, RBD's should manage a total of 10 employees each. Now what to do with these employees? Perhaps they could be offered other types of positions, as this top-heavy management will have very bad consequences. With too many RBD's on board, Sage becomes top heavy and faces many negative impacts—all are unnecessary challenges. RBD's already feel the need to compete with other RBD's, which can lead to them pushing for conflicting initiatives. With this existing top heavy hierarchy, they worry more about managing and less about letting their reps just do their jobs. This is leading the managers to micromanaging their teams to justify their position to their AD's—which is bad for the reps and their productivity. Having a top heavy organization negatively impacts all employees. Reps are already feeling overly managed, which causes undue stress and makes them less likely to think creatively or suggest changes for growing Sage. It's unfortunate as it could result in losing a lot of good people if they don't make structural changes. Having a manager manage 5 to 6 polished professionals is just bad business.
