My manager is tolerable at best. I do not like what is going on with other teams. Why does the company allow this? Not a healthy way to run a business.
Did someone really say that this company was supportive and generous during Covid?! What planet have you been on! This company was rotten to its employees in a global pandemic. According to upper management “Covid was just an excuse”. In the midst of the pandemic reps were being led to believe they were headed for a PIP. Other companies were paying full bonus but not this company. Threats and intimidation were used with no support or understanding whatsoever. Now they are tracking every metric and micromanaging every single move. Idiots running this company.
where is John Deegan from?
My former employer froze pay increases, bonus and stock awards and they told some teams to take a temporary pay cut or a furlough. And we got 2-5% merit and $20-40,000 in stock for 75% of the sales force. I’ll take that. Thanks.
Same here. The company I left used the pandemic as an excuse to eliminate merit, and Q2-Q4 bonus. They just reinstated the Q1 bonus with an 8 call per day, live or virtual, KPI metric. Anyone falling below 85% reach becomes bonus ineligible. This year was frustrating but ITCI treated us MUCH better than a lot of other companies. They didn't use the excuse of Covid or being a small startup to pick our pockets.
You know what’s even crazier? My old company STILL maintained the entire salesforce, paid out bonuses, and treated EVERYONE with respect. They did NOT lead with fear and intimidation! The fact the people are so “okay” with how teammates are treated and the justification that “it’s not happening to me” is exactly what is wrong with the company.
I think you’re missing the point. The conversation is regarding a toxic culture riddled with micromanaging RBM’s. I did well and can agree with being financially rewarded during the pandemic. I also got lucky because I have a few speakers in my territory and I live in a state with open market access. Its not an equal playing field. It’s a ticking time bomb here because of the culture. I talk to friends across the country and no one is happy with ITCI. The micromanaging is intolerable with not so smart people that are high up looking at metrics. They are more concerned with driving metrics than fostering growth in their employees and that’s what’s disturbing.Same here. Sounds like an amazing company. Why exactly did you leave? Maybe they will take you back?

Touché! Most of us got paid bonuses and equity awards during annual reviews, but penalizing the bottom 25% with PIPs is a terrible way to deal with low performance during a pandemic. I agree with the poster who said that the pandemic offered a great way to vet employers, however something tells me that ITCI leadership would lie about it. I don’t hate it here, but certainly don’t love it. I’m very disappointed in the way some of my colleagues have been treated - I certainly won’t miss the culture.
P.S. I’ve heard of several departures already, seems the company isn’t backfilling those roles. Wonder why? Perhaps the financials aren’t as good as advertised after all.
We only have a handful of openings. Look at the roster that updates every week. Half of those were people who got fired for cause. Vacancies are being back filled. Good luck to you wherever you go.
I absolutely hate it at ITCI!!!! Biggest mistake I’ve made yet. My manager is a good guy. But he has been forced to make some terrible decisions based on the pressure he is getting from up Top. Culture is absolutely TOXIC, indeed. I have plenty experience in small start ups and Big Pharma alike. This is not a surprise, however, the timing to which it is occurring in the process, is. I thought a company with a more solid financial standing at the beginning would be promising. Boy, was I wrong! I can tell you what will happen next, they are forcing good people out on PIPS so that they can realigned the territory’s and not have to pay severance. This is a common small start up practice when financial goals are not being met. Remember we are only hitting 40% of the expected goal. Take those shares and run!!! Territories are small enough to combine, without a doubt. California was one of the most difficult Markets to work during the Pandemic and they treated the reps with little to no support and rewarded many with PIPs post reviews. I can no longer be a part of an establishment that practices with no empathy, compassion or integrity!!!! We have already lost so many good people. This company will not make it.....Believe that!!!!!
