Company Car?

I think what you are seeing in the way of departures sure is a case of people coming from big pharma and realizing that they are more comfortable in big pharma and being spoon fed what to do and just checking boxes. Let's us take a look at the two in the north that just left. The guy was on his way out and soon to be on a plan. He couldn't get any scripts. The girl was offered a great position with another company that reduced her territory size. Can't blame her for leaving.

Out west we had 3 quit and all of them were from big pharma and couldn't think for themselves. Where did all three of them go? Back to big pharma. Those are the only departures I'm aware of. I like it here. Yes the car allowance is pretty bad and not what they told me when I was interviewing. I don't care. I love the product and the culture. We may all be out of jobs in a year if the pipeline doesn't come through, but is it much different at any other company? Do you job the best you can and everything else works out the way it is supposed to.

4 MEN quit in the North.

heard more to come, tick tock.
If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

This is a great place to work! Such a relief after coming from big Pharma. I never really believed that a company could be so nimble and humble. I love it here! Yes, management may not always be the best fit, but that is true anywhere. They are doing their best. Come with a solution or go back to those big Pharma companies with crazy metrics and stupid policies that make you feel guilt for doing a good job.

Ya, the car allowance is not very good here compared to other pharma co's I've been at and a one of those was a pretty small start up. That's ok though. I didn't come here just for the car allowance. I like the autonomy to run my territory and have a lot of support when I need something. I like the culture here. I'm not going to get rich but I like what I do and how they allow me to do it. So much better than big pharma.
This thread started a few weeks before some of us were given offers to come work here. I spoke at length with HR about my allowance for a car and could not really get a straight answer. They told me base rate and amount per mile varied on where you live, percentage of business vs. personal miles... I thought I had a good sense of what I'd get. Now that I have been out in the field for a few months it is so much lower than what was told to me. It's not the end of the world but I sure expected more. My last company had a much better allowance. I think you need to have a very low end car to break even on a car here. I'm not talking about a base model Chrysler 200 but I wouldn't get much more than a base model chevy Malibu or the like. If you live in the north and need a 4 wheel drive you will have to get a RAV 4 or lower in my estimate.

Listen up Snowflake! Just because you didnt buy the right car it isn't Alkermes fault. It is yours. Work smarter and sell more and you'll have more money. I was not told how much I would get before a bought my Honda Civic with low miles (not new). I am doing quite well on $$ and I drive about 2-2.5 K miles a month. Who cares anyway, it all Trumps fault, right? Take your baby ass ranting elsewhere. Hope that helps!

Hey now. I don't think there is any need for such mean spirited personal comments. I agree with the guy/girl and others who posted about the car allowance here. I don't think they were dogging anyone. Seems like they were just stating facts. Facts I can validate. I also was told I'd get a much higher base monthly car allowance and much higher overall monthly allowance. When I compare what I get here it doesn't even come close to the allowance I had at my previous company. Not enough to make me quit or want to leave, but it does weigh on future decisions I have to make when looking at potential other company's to work for should I feel it is time for me to be moving on. Maybe you've only worked here or this is the only place that has given you a car allowance. Facts are facts and the fact is that the car allowance her is indeed lacking. I hope this can finally put this thread to rest and we can get back to more important things.

Choose a better car next time. I am net positive each month on my allowance. Move on Snowflake or move back home with mom and dad

Please drop this useless chatter. It's an "allowance" ...to cover use of you vehicle. It's not a supplemental revenue source.
I think you take a rather narrow view of the situation with your comments. I believe most posters here are bringing attention to the fact that our company has a policy on car allowance that is woefully below the industry standard. That is something we should all worry about. It may make a potential good recruit pass on a position with our company. It may also lead one who is currently working her decide to leave. Now it won't be THE main factor in the decision, but in the very competitive field that is our industry it is important to at least be in the average on all types of compensation if you want to attract and retain industry leading talent. Industry leading talent will gravitate toward industry leading compensation.

You are such a Snowflake! If there are better places to work in this industry I trust people will pursue that opportunity. My bonus is much better here and I know it is better than those companies that we compete against. Go sell and be thankful for what you get and if not, buy a better vehicle or change companies. Hope that helps

Ahhh... Your post above really shows your ignorance and lack of strategic thinking. You will never be more than a TBM your entire career. Management material needs to think strategically and long term. Having a deficiency in any aspect of your compensation plans (base, bonus, benefits, car allowance...) needs to be addressed to keep good people. Your solution is to tell them if they don't like it they should leave. No that's long term strategic thinking - NOT!

Like I said in the previous post, you are a Snowflake! A big, dumb, lonely, late night posting Snowflake!

And I didn't say if people don't like it they should leave! I said if there are better opportunities, people should pursue them. Big difference. That's why I am here. I pursued and was offered a better opportunity. BTW, no one held a gun to my head and made me accept the offer. Hope that helps

Spoken like a true low level medium producer TBM.

The snowflakes numbers suck, that's why he is bitching for more car money. Hopefully he gets fed up and leaves.
You sir are a douche. You have been faced and schooled many times on this thread and still you keep coming back with insipid and inane posts all of which use the word snowflake. I don't know if it was the same poster each time or multiple different posters that have made you look like a buffoon but you sure are bold to keep coming back just to be made the fool.
