Not here to bash or praise, but it is early. The pre-season picks by "experts' are mostly guesses and homer sports writers rooting for the local conference.
Fact #1 the top 12 ranked teams this week have played a total of 59 games. Only 2 of those games were against team that were still ranked in the top 25 as of last week. That would have been WV vs #25 Baylor and K-State a OU. The majority of games have been against the likes of Missouri St, Towson, Florida Atantic, James Madison, etc....schools getting pay days. Of course some hyped "top teams" were played...but now we know they were not very good.
Fact #2 Seven teams in pre-season top 25 are not even ranked now - Arkansas, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma St, Boise, Michigan, and Michigan State. That is nearly one third of the "expert" picks from only 6 weeks ago. Plus #1 USC and #4 OU are not in the top10.

Seems to be some rather harsh feelings between the league competitive internally, but under preforming nationally, the Big 10 and the SEC. The SEC is very strong, especially with the top 5 teams, but there seems to be a bit of over sensitivity that is out of proportion on this board. The original observation were simply that; 1. Wouldn't it be a better life for you (yes, you the king of da string) if you actually had an alma mater you loved and actually went to games, tailgated, followed them etc.. no matter how poorly they played you still were loyal and wore their colors and had fun with fellow alumni? Hard to imagine huh? It actually exists. Uh.........well. It exists with every single college grad in the nation who likes the sport of football except you!! Unless..............i have an "out for ya"............you went to a school that did not have football. some NAIA or division 3 school. Then you would have a legit reason to find another team to root for, but you aren't even capable of that! If TN was on top, ranked #1 etc, they would be your favorite. (each week of the ratings it would change, so you just say, ah the heck with it. I will take all 12 teams.) That is pretty sad.
My team plays at 8 pm tonight and I keep looking at the clock and it is moving sooooooooooo slowly. Gonna have to hit the gym and run errands to pass the time until my radio pre-game starts at 3:30. That's right 4 1/2 hours of pre-game. We are highly likely to lose our 1st game tonight, but if so, it will still be a ton of fun with lots of friends and good food. You cannot expect any team with a new coach to run the table. I wish I knew if that has ever been done b4. can't find it on Google. could you imagine taking a team with a losing record, coming in as a brand new coach, installing a totally new offense and running the table in the same conf. the losers played in the year b4??!! now THAT would be unreal in ANY conference in america. even the sec. again, i am talking a BELOW .500 SEASON then going undefeated with a NEW coach! never been done in history, i am 99% sure. it may happen. this may be a year for history!! (doubt it. may lose 2 games but i thought anything above .500 would be fine at the start of the season, now the city is buzzing about undefeated. come on now.......that can't happen can it??? i HAVE seen coaches take losing teams and in their 1st year take them to records like 9-3 etc. never undefeated after being sub .500 the prev. year
