Clinical Science Consultant

You must be a sales rep, worried about your job. The healthcare industry needs more qualified professionals who have a solid background and disease state knowledge and clinical experience in the sales field. No sales rep in the world can compete with healthcare professional with clinical experience. See we can't bring knowledge and clinical experience to the table, what is it that you have Oh yea you can puke out data, clinical trials. See what you don't get most of the sales reps have ruined the industry you did it to yourself. Cheating companies out of money, buying your family dinner instead of providing lunch to the physicians office or filling your friends car up with gas and claiming it as your expense. I don't mean all sales reps operate this way, but you know who you are. What you will find is healthcare professionals are PROFESSIONALS. Talk about integrity, honesty.

What does the P in PSR stand for now-a-days????????

Oh god, spare us all, get over yourself! So based on your thoughts ALL healthcare professionals are "professional". Clearly you've been out of the game far too long, I can't wait until you set foot in one of your new offices! What a rude awakening that will be.

This question is directed to someone who has accepted a CSC position.

B-I has started my background check which takes approx 5-7 days to complete. How long did it take to receive a job offer after your background check began? Thanks for the information.

This question is directed to the wanna be. Its an SOP that the top three canidates go through, you're not in yet, skippy! After the top three finally IV, the hiring manager will ultimately decide which one he/she wants based on regional managers observation.

Keep your license current for you I can gaurantee will need it. How does it feel to know you have failed amongst your peers. Once in pharma, you're not seen as an equal anymore. JUST ANOTHE REP!!!! Just ask thoes who have tried it before you? Enjoy the short ride.

And by the way, other companies have tried this avenue with CSCs and have failed. BI's current management is desperate and is pulling out all the tricks they've learned at Merck in order to save their own preservation. Take a GOOD HARD LOOK personally and with in the pharma industry of the same positions before you decide.

OK...I'm one of those who did a F2F in Jan....moved forward with background and reference check and as far as I know-still under consideration. I'm seeing different dates on training/hiring. Is it possible that they will call us back in for additional interview-or just decide based on f2f over 6 weeks ago? Is anyone else in this situation?

When you say top three...top three for each interviewing round? Or top 3 overall?

You will probably get a call with an offer or rejection soon. Have they started your background check? I received an offer around 2 weeks following the start of the background check. No more interviews for me. Good luck.

Congrats to all of you that have made it and have offers. I have an interview next week they informed me it was a three hour interview process. Can anyone give me advice? What types of questions? Was it a panel interview. I currenlty work with pulmonologist, I am confident in the respiratory field but would like some insite to the interview process. Thanks in advance.

All questions are STAR format.
S/T:situation, task
A:your action
R:result

You will need very specific answers. It's not just about your clinical exp, but your 'fit' to the position. It is a sales position. You need to be strong in many key areas. Good luck!! It's a great job!

What is the salary range for thr CSC positions? Just curious to see what BI is willing to pay for "clinical knowledge."

And what "clinical knowledge" do you think you have, I'm guessing you're an RN because no MD, DO, PharmD, CNP, or PA would do this shit ass job in their right mind unless they lost their license and could no longer practice.

I've seen the CSC's in action, they try and beat the crap out of the doctor with their "clinical expertise" and the docs still walk away from them like they are any other rep.

without pharma or sales experience (some sort),, you may not get the job. They learned hard lessons by hiring wrong people at the first time..

You don't know what you are talking about........."wrong people" how arrogant. When BI does not even give the reps that sell Micardis enough details to talk to a doc with out having to do a DIU request. Then when you do one they don't send the information requested, they just data dump. I had doctors first hand tell me that the information they requested was NEVER sent out. They just got a bunch of papers but nothing that answered the question. The company has to give the reps the tools to do their jobs. These were questions that should have been part of the details in the detail aid when making a claim not "data on file". Many of the people let go in August were my friends and had brought those territories up into the top 10% in the nation. They kept folks making 4 calls, ranked almost last in the nation in my areas

Since BI learned these "hard lessons" tell me how are the numbers now? How is Twynsta? we have big scripts nationwide.....yeah right. Truth is BI managers let reps get away with murder and didn't hold them accountable. These were not reps that were recently hired these were reps who had been with the company for 8 years making 4 calls a day and getting promoted. This was supported by the RD. So don't make blanket statements blaming it all on the reps. BI needs to really take a look at the managers, RD's, VP's and especially the marketing team for Micardis. The state the company is in has EVERYTHING to do with decisions made by management.

An idea to improve management would be to include “sales results” in the MDC requirements. This one clown that is up for management has never been in extreme rewards even after 5+ years with BI. Stop the disaster!

We will never see sales results wighted to any significant degree. Because when challenged in court management position will evaporate. We are fed tons of Rxing data that really means very little and is so shakey they choose not to permit its veracity to be cross examined and challenged under oath. Therefore, we have to be evaluated on activity and not results. Seems a shame. But this is the game we are forced to play and perpetuate the house of cards.

Depends on degree.
70-90k base, $29,500 IC with a DM level car upgrade. MD/DO's are higher base, but there are VERY VERY few. Mostly RN's and pharmacists are filling these positions. There are many Spec & Inspec Reps making more than CSC's.

Not quite accurate there. Base is more than 90. Some people are making 6 digits plus bonus. I'm guessing you're a rep trying to belittle other people because you are a shitty rep and cannot find meaningful existance in your daily life.

I've been a CSC for several months, and it depends on your degree & experience. Not all CSC's have that high of a base salary. Don't be such an ass. You make us all look bad.
