Centurion medical?

Just this past week I know a rep that got let go and another rep resigned in the same region! Both of them had good territories too. I know both of them.

The rep that was let go was young, smart and good at selling. The accounts liked her too from what I know. Definitely should not have been fired.

That's how idiotic Centurion is. They keep the freaks and rejects.

Yes, I am leaving soon. This place blows!

It's getting harder and harder to close anything because the stuff is way overpriced for what it is anyhow.

The only people at Centurion who make any money are the effing old ass dinosaur reps who've never worked at another medical company and can't leave.

Don't bother with this place, you won't make any money because the RD's, Goro and Tom keep it all. Eff the all!

I agree with how strange it is here. I know of a few people let go who were doing great. The one commonality I find is that they were honest. They should have kept their observations to themselves. You definitely don't want to look like you are not drinking the Kool Aid. And you're told to ask for help. Yeah right? Be careful who you ask for help. You get helped right out the door.

Re: Centurion medical

Centurion Medical Products is an unethical, deceitful greedy company run by scumbags.

Save yourself the headache and do not work for this train wreck as they will never compensate you fairly. And if you dare to ask for your commissions which you have worked hard for, they will get rid of you and replace you with a junior rep and then use them up and not pay them commissions either. They have no intention of paying you fairly, they are greedy because they know their business is failing so to save their own butts they steal from their employees.

Very evil place.

But, but...centurion story, you don't have what it takes, make sacrifices, get rich slow, challenger, blah blah blah.

Tom, Goro, Moyer, Thomas, Henke, Savage, Zane...somebody, please say something. You confirmed at the sales meeting that you look at this board, so please speak up.

The fact of the matter is that every company has it's problems. But your sales force is getting tired of having to defend Centurion to our customers, to other reps, and even recruiters. It's bad enough that we have to spend the bulk of a sales call defending why we aren't on contract, and drag out the sales process because our prices are higher; but now former reps and customers are seeing these posts and the comments here and on other forums are coming up. How are we supposed to ever get to have a discussion and deliver insight if now we have to answer questions about if we work for a cult, or if the company screws its reps? It doesn't really paint a picture of a company that a hospital would like to do business with.

Unfortunately, some of the things on this board are true. There are and have been some very strange business practices and terminations. Not sure why reps that are doing well have been let go. I can tell you that the 3 mentors I have had have all told me to keep your opinions to yourself, and certainly do not tell your Regional Director. I have seen those that have spoken up get let go. Despite the ridiculously high turnover, you have reps that have "embraced the challenge," have "met the challenge," and have bought into the Centurion way. I'd think that you at least owe it to them and to yourselves to set the record straight.

These posts are spot on to the culture around CMP. Terrible management with a lack of support while using a sales model from the 70's. The line will always be why do we need contracts when we have great products. The best part of this job is just like any other sales job, the freedom. The worst part of this job is listening to Mike Goro ramble on how awesome he is. Best piece of advice if you accept a position is to keep your mouth shut, play the game and do everything you can throw your manager under the bus before they do it to you.

Centurion is the perfect example of why companies fail in the 2nd generation. Tommy's entitlement leads him to abuse the company as a personal piggy bank for lavish vacations and big game hunting trips. When he actually does show up you can hear him yelling in his office or bragging to goro about pushing his football sled lol. Meanwhile his circle of "yes men" do anything to stay under the radar until retirement. In my time there I've watched dedicated hard working employees with 15-20 years of loyalty straight up fired, stripped of title or transferred to Howell for “Challenging” the way things are. The RD's are a joke; as the previous post stated they lack leadership and will throw anyone and everyone under the bus to justify their incompetence as a director. It’s honestly all very sad, every new program they’ve started has failed (Edwards CVCs, Group Area Specialists, Centurion University and soon enough the Compass) due to their thick-headedness around contracts, product launch, pricing and utterly worthless marketing department ha. The only successful product was the sorbaview shield and although goro will tell you it was his idea, anyone who works there will tell you otherwise. To all new comers, if you’re looking for a way to break into the Medical industry, this job will give you cross department experience to leverage into a better, more honest company but do not think for a minute Centurion is a long term position, 1-2 years max. You either have to be related or a complete fool to waste your career at such a dishonest deceitful company. Good luck to all, the best day of my life was when I put in my 2 week notice and got out of there.

i was contacted by a recruiter earlier in the week about a sales position with this company. I'm trying to verify a couple of things before moving forward with this. He said that Centurion are on several contracts and customers want to buy from you. Also that this is a great place to be successful as a sales rep and then move into management. Can anyone comment honestly on this? Like I said, I'm trying to do my due diligence here and from all of the previous posts, it sounds like the recruiter might be misinformed.

Not to be too blunt, but did you read the previous posts? Does this place sound like a place where you're products are in demand. It's a job selling commodity items. Anyway, read the posts and your questions are answered.

Actually, I did read all 6 pages of posts. I was hoping that it was just former employees being negative or current employees that aren't making it. I had asked because the posts are pretty much the opposite of what the recruiter, 2 current reps, and the hiring manager told me.

I think you will do great here. You can expect many calls from hospitals looking specifically for Centurion products. Exactly what the recruiter told you. The movement to management is not easy, but you could do it with a few years of successful selling. There are many reps who are successful managers now. It's great all the success you see here. There is also all kinds of success in the many new products you get to sell. Good luck, you'll do great!

Sounds like you'll fit right in. Please let us know if you take the position.
