Centurion medical?

Centurion has its share of greedy, shady older reps that happened to get into the industry before it went down the toilet. Some of these older reps are so out of touch and would never be able to sell this crap to frugal purchasing agents if they had to start off again from scratch. I think a lot of the older reps know they are stuck.

What comes around goes around!

1. You clearly would not or didn't make it as a member of the Centurion sales force. Centurion reps are dedicated, hard working individuals, who understand that sacrifice is required to be successful, and are true entrepreneurs.
2. Centurion has premium products that have proven to improve patient outcomes, clinician outcomes, environmental outcomes, and financial outcomes. That's why Centuriondoesnt need to have GPO coverage.
3. Centurion has a strong tradition of excellent sales training and mentoring. If sales reps communicate with each other, their mentors, senior management, and their RD's on a daily basis then they should be successful.

If you don'tfollow the formula you will not be successful here.

The comments here are interesting. Many of us would agree that times have changed. We used to be able to grow sales and benefit. Now the grind is demoralizing when you lose big sales volume for contracting reasons. Nothing else. Your year is ruined and yes, we do work hard. Saving sales, losing business, and hopefully closing a sale to break even is an unfortunate way to make a living. But that is where we are today. The previous post is where the negativity fosters itself. There is a disconnect from what worked in the past and reality. LUCK is the ongoing mantra heard from many. Your lucky to close the sale, and even more lucky to not lose business. I'm embarrassed for who wrote the formula to be successful. This doesn't work in most senior territories and I don't need to speak with newer reps every day. I have the same issues they have most of the time.

LOL ive never read soo many bad posts in such a little amount of time about a company ... place must suck real hard!!

Just got a call from a recruiter about a spot with them. Homeboy even stated they want to know 2 years worth of W2 because the company "wont hire people at cut" lol ...they call me forrest now because I ran sooo much that I am in Malaysia now helping with the search efforts to find the plane. You guys are soo inspiring!

You gotta be kidding me ...in the first of its kind, Centurion making history by making the candidate call the hiring manager directly at the scheduled time for a phone interview wtf... lol who the fuk does that !! anyone ever experienced this before? backwards company... this screams run even faster

I just left in February along with 5 other decent reps and heard of a bunch of other walk offs nationwide. Upper management in Michigan are a bunch of greedy old r*****s. They have lost major market share in the last 2 years, pay and culture sucks, numerous accounts and the name/image has been tarnished. Why am I not surprised reading this. We were on top about 3 years ago but it has been a shitshow downfall from there, I wont be surprised if they go under at this rate or BK, or get bought out to salvage something.

This thread has been pretty much spot on with the comments. I wish that it was just a couple of angry reps, but unfortunately it isn't. New hires aren't staying much longer than 9 months, many have left after just a few weeks because of the culture and they say that they were basically lied to during the recruiting/hiring process. Most tenured reps are unhappy. The money they were told they would make has never happened. They are told to sell things like denture cups, belonging bags, and other commodity products that are over priced and off contract. The company has bought into the Challenger program and that is where the focus of everything is. I was speaking with a rep that just came back from the rewards trip and he said that this is the only company where a rep can't bring a spouse/significant other, even if they pay for it.

That's easy. Edwards! This product is the best opportunity any Centurion rep has scene in years to make money. Hospitals love the idea of a custom central line tray. They are terrified of their CLABSI rates. They can't get these custom trays from anyone else. Centurion is the only company who could do this. Our needle holders are another reason our kits are so much better. Arrow is terrified of our market share gain. Edwards is the best product we will could ever get to sell.

Does this sound familiar? How many trays have you sold lately? This place sucks!

Try working here, you will see how bad it is to work here. They don't care about the turnover because you would think with the majority of people hired in 2014 already gone, something would be done. Glad I got out when I did. The pay has changed so much, that you could increase your sales by double or triple from what they were just a few years ago, and make less money. After a couple of years, they even stop covering your expenses.

I Recently applied for a sales position selling med/surg disposables. Looking for any info on company, position, pay, products, etc. Thanks in advance!

I got the impression that they want to hire under 30. Ask a lot of illegal questions of me. I might find out what recourse I have. I am tired of these bastards in corporate Amerika playing games.

If I were you, I'd ask them about turnover and why all of the new hires are leaving. Make sure you understand that it will take years to make any money at this company. You will not get paid any commissions on existing business, even though you have to still support that business, and will be held responsible if you lose it. I also heard that they keep 1/2 of every commission dollar you earn. So if you earn $1,000 in commissions per the plan & sales dollars, you will only get $500.

This company is known to screw up people's careers. I am pleased to read on here that reps are leaving and newer ones are hopefully staying away. There is nothing of importance that Centurion can offer in the coming years. The fools that run the company (we all know who they are) need to keep doing what they're doing so this ship can sink soon.
