Cadence will be hiring soon

I'm not sure why everyone's so excited about this job. Two bad quarters where you're in the bottom 3rd of the division and you're gone, the hiring manager told me herself. That's intense. The strategy is to set up a culture where reps are in constant fear of losing their jobs. If a rep gets let go then they bring someone else just as hungry and eager to ramp up.

I just don't get how you only 2 Qs of leeway. Some territories need time to ramp up while other territories are easily accessible. Just my 2 cents but don't feel too bad if you didn't get the offer. The pay is good but comes with a steep price.

Great work environment-- wonder if HR would like someone breathing down there neck
every quarter. Companies like this give the industry a bad name... I know reps that
have been in the same job for 15 years. I want to work where I can sleep at night.

Maybe that hiring manager was just trying to test your confidence in your skills. I don't get the impression that these are stupid people, and only stupid people would run a hospital sales force the way you describe.

I was told the same thing. I was also told that the division is ranked against each other so if you are in the bottom 3rd out of 9 reps then you needed to get those numbers back up. This is not a stupid way to run a hospital force. It makes everyone work hard or their job is on the line. Selling Iv tylenol isn't rocket science a new rep could ramp up in 3 months.
 






I agree that selling this isn't rocket science but seriously, has anyone ever been able to get a drug on formulary (at a major teaching hospital) within 3 months. That's unheard of considering the things that have to be accomplished! Example: Doctor has to ask for it in pharmacy, drug has to get on agenda for P & T and then it could be bumped till the next month, has to get approval from Medical Executive Committee etc. Here in the east coast, nothing happens before 6 months and that's if you're extremely lucky!!!
 






This job is not for the faint of heart. If you know anything about scios upper management then you will know that the culture values performance above anything else. Laziness will not be tolerated. Bad numbers will not be tolerated. 2 quarters to perform sound about right. I will take a cushy hospital job with big pharma for 5k less over this culture any day.

So if you have a very large account that is historically very limited access and a major process to get any new drug added you would be screwed if it too 3 quarters instead of 2? They can shove this job you know where. I want no part of working for unrealistic assholes, and they would not find someone very easily who works as hard as I do. OK Shit-for-brains we get it, you're not interested, you're above the fray. Please, stop posting and we'll try to launch this drug without your expertise, Lord knows it will be hard, but we will try. Lots of animosity for a new company, did they already reject your hard-working-ass with another option? We know it isn't teaching grammar.

This stupid company is going to try to sell this generic for twice as much as they do in Europe. Checking the highest price over there which is Norway it costs over $9 per vial. Get Real. IV Morphine and IV Fentanyl are cheap as dirt. Most of the people getting jobs here will be looking again in 6 months.
