Cadence will be hiring soon

Buddy, this is NOT a Medtronic type of sales job you will not make even NEAR the 170-200 that top performing Medtronic reps make. Yes, Cadence is a great opportunity but there will be challenges selling IV acetaminophen in many hospitals where opioids are a fraction of the cost. Pediatric hospitals will be a slam dunk but you will not make significant bonuses selling in peds alone... you will have to have huge sales in the adult market.

Reality is that Cadence is not giving any of us stock options up front so no one will cash in if Cadence is bought out by another company. What we get is a good base salary and hopefully a non-pharma management style. But please...you are probably not going to make big money.

Start polling all the anesthesiologists you know... you will find a very mixed response. Hospitals are broke and they will penny pinch all they can. For adults, who cares if they get opioids? A little nausea, who cares? Tylenol? Not a very potent analgesic! Dilaudid works great! On and on....

Just a little dose of reality.... if you are such a start... why not go to device where your base is 50 and most is commission? Cadence is NOT that company.

THANK YOU! AT LEAST THERE IS ONE VOICE OF REASON AND COMMON SENSE. MOST HOSPITALS WON'T EVEN LET YOU IN UNTIL THE DRUG IS ON FORMULARY. MANY WAIT A YEAR OR LONGER.

Medtronic and Cadence in the same post....that is hilarious!!!!

Agree with this poster:

This is not a Scios-like opportunity....Get Real!!

Your tylenol has been approved, not let's see if you can sell and get off this dumb board.

You are certainly not an Ivy-league guy. It's a tough assesment, but just a guess. Bachelor's degree even..?

Or mechanic turned "sales guy". This company has a coarse culture.

Ivy-league? Are you kidding me, how many ivy-league educated people are selling in pharma. None! What a moron. I hope you take your education wherever it leads you, but if you are an ivy-leager you are working beneath your education and need to get out.

This company may have a course culture, in your opinion. In my opinion it is a culture of getting things done, not worrying about little things like what everyone else is driving for a work car.

You are so right! I think we all have to remember that there is no access to "talk" about a product if it isn't on formulary. So until you gain formulary approval, access will be pretty limited. Since Ofirmev is the only baby and we have no other products to go in with...we may be in a bit of a pickle!

Holy sh*t! I will ask you again. Why are YOU on this board? I am going to work for Cadence so that is why I am here. I'm here because as of yesterday I was trying to see what others thought of the opportunity (not that one comes here for credible info.). More curiosity I guess, but justified time spent because as of today I work for Cadence.

Why are you spending your time on a message board for the sheer sake of demeaning the opportunity of others? People just facinate me.

OP of "car allowance" a few posts up.

Thx for those with professional replies. As a car buff, I was sharing my excitement shopping for cars & wondering what others had found? Fun to share the joy. And yes, at 22k, the $500/mth allowance is close. My point was finding a nicer ride blows past the limited car funding. Start shopping and you will find out. And sure, some will buy the cheap car, while others will reward themselves like me and get a nicer ride b/c of confidence in Cadence, product, & ability. Very excited!!!!! Which makes the rude poster who first applied seem mentally disturbed. Finally, it's somewhat obvious from the last 10 posts who is leaving great jobs vs those who need a job. Great for all of us, but different deciding factors. Good luck to all of us. Happy selling!

Ofirmev approved, stock down -13%. Analysts downgraded.
This product has a lot to prove to Wall Street.
Missed Primary Endpoint in one of our key indication studies.
Will be a tough objection to handle.

WTF? Why did investors dump their shares after getting approval? CADX downgraded to a strong sell? If ofirmev doesn't hit the ground running you can forget about management being hands off.

Haven't heard one word about missing any endpoints. Not in internet articles or investor conference calls. Enlighten us.

How about 2 other firms UPGRADED Cadence:

Wedbush increased price target to $12-15
Canacoord Genuity increased price target to $12-14

Investors didn't dump their shares.
46% of the outstanding shares are owned by insiders (none of which sold in the last week)
25% of the shares are owned by mutual funds (doubt much of this was sold)
29% of the shares are owned by shorts (they actually added to their positions in the last few days as 30% of all shares SOLD since the announcement were 'shares sold short'. That leaves less than 1% of the outstanding shares owned by 'retail' investors. That might only account for a few hundred thousand shares.

If you are going to come to the plate you better know what you are talking about son.

Oh yeah, let's see what fucknut replies with now. Nice research, chief.

It's Bristrol Myers Squib that buying out Cadence. Announcement will be made tomorrow. As a rep, I am not sure how much I like this. We are all big pharma now and I doubt the comp plan will be as lucrative as promised.

If this is true it will be one of the strangest transactions ever, since Cadence bought (or licensed, I'm not sure which) the IV Acetominephine from BMS, who was already selling it in Europe. Then BMS will buy Cadence, presumably for more that it would have cost BMS to get the product approved in the US. If I was a major shareholder of BMS, I would have a lot of questions about this.

Then again, maybe I'm missing something. Anyone have any insight?

I call bulls*it on the BMS buyout rumors. More scare tactics from losers that want our jobs. However, if the rumors are true, i'm staying put. Im not leaving biotech for big pharma micromanagement and a 30k bonus plan.
