Buddy, this is NOT a Medtronic type of sales job you will not make even NEAR the 170-200 that top performing Medtronic reps make. Yes, Cadence is a great opportunity but there will be challenges selling IV acetaminophen in many hospitals where opioids are a fraction of the cost. Pediatric hospitals will be a slam dunk but you will not make significant bonuses selling in peds alone... you will have to have huge sales in the adult market.
Reality is that Cadence is not giving any of us stock options up front so no one will cash in if Cadence is bought out by another company. What we get is a good base salary and hopefully a non-pharma management style. But please...you are probably not going to make big money.
Start polling all the anesthesiologists you know... you will find a very mixed response. Hospitals are broke and they will penny pinch all they can. For adults, who cares if they get opioids? A little nausea, who cares? Tylenol? Not a very potent analgesic! Dilaudid works great! On and on....
Just a little dose of reality.... if you are such a start... why not go to device where your base is 50 and most is commission? Cadence is NOT that company.
THANK YOU! AT LEAST THERE IS ONE VOICE OF REASON AND COMMON SENSE. MOST HOSPITALS WON'T EVEN LET YOU IN UNTIL THE DRUG IS ON FORMULARY. MANY WAIT A YEAR OR LONGER.
