Cadence will be hiring soon

If approved Thursday, how long do you go before telling your current company?

I am missing my complete Q4 bonus payout by 30 days. Would be nice to have the understanding and support of Cadence to "double dip" longer than 2 weeks and get the bonus." Going to be in training anyway first month. Thoughts?

Also, for those needing to buy cars, what are you finding for good deals? The low car allowance has made itself known shopping for cars this week. Looks like $22,000 is about all the $500/mth can handle.....and we're not even talking about insurance/maintenance etc...

New base Civic, Fusion, Accord? Used Impalas?

Holy shit, can you make a decision by yourself? Why dont we make this the prioroty of our first meeting, making sure we all know what kind of cars we can all afford. How does your math work out, a car is 22k and you think the payment, plus gas is going to be 500 bucks? my math puts the payment at 250-275, with no money down. Plenty of cash for gas. How do you get up in the morning and get dressed by yourself?

Holy crap...I am not the orifginal poster, but I hope you are not planning to wsork for this company. All we need is another idiot that thinks they are hot sh#t and knows everything. The OP made some valid points...and unfortunately the car allowance sucks.

I didnt say i know everything nor am i an idiot, just that the posters math didn't make any sense. 500 bucks a month isn't great for a car allowance, but its really going to suck if you think your going to buy a 22k car and have to spend the whole 500 on a car payment, that payment should be around 200 bucks. I am going to work here, but not for the car allowance, I am taking this position because I think there will be some real money to be made. Not a whopping 500 bucks a month. I am going to buy a cheep used car and get out there and make some money. What makes me sick is some of the people here and elsewhere that think they are owed a new 40K car every 2-3 years to run from parking ramp to parking ramp and sell shit. a company doesn't owe you anything, be happy they are willing to pay you anything for a car. if you dont like the car allowance then go somewhere else. The poster sounded to me like they couldnt make a decision by themselves, shit or get off the pot man; there are plenty of qualified people out there that would take this job without the 500 for a car and never look back. My bet is they would work this punk into the ground because they are not worried about a measly 500 bucks for a F-ing car.

You are certainly not an Ivy-league guy. It's a tough assesment, but just a guess. Bachelor's degree even..?

Or mechanic turned "sales guy". This company has a coarse culture.

I am beginning to have major doubts as well. Just about any solid company will offer a fleet car. The last thing anyone wants to do is jump ship with a decent job and then find themselves having to go out and buy a car.

Also, everyone feels guaranteed that this is definitely going to be approved this week, but their still could be another delay.

Absolutely Not, but it would be nice to have:

1. A fleet car with insurance and maintenance covered

2. Paid detailed physician target reports

Can you get them for us smarty?

Are you serious? Have you ever even worked in a hospital? Does your mommy still get you dressed in the morning? My advice is stay where you are. You need all the help you can get.

I could not agree more! The pervious poster is probably the same guy perplexed about buying a honda or ford. Who the F cares what kind of car we are all driving? Go back to your pod and call reporting.

Please stop posting incorrect information about the car allowance. The poster posting $500 per month for allowance is obviously confused about the way the program works. You need to check with your manager and have them explain it to you again!

I haven't purchased a car in 16 years. I am not worried about the amount for the car but more about the per mile riembursement. If gas goes up to $4 a gallon, do we get an increase in per mile pay? I can't wait to get started. My manager rocks and the drug will fill an important need in the hospital. Patiently waiting for thursday so I can give my notice.

I did call my manager and it was explained to me. I get $500+ buck a month for the car allowance plus .18 per mile. There will be different amounts given depending on the cost of living in your zip code. My buddy works for Medtronic selling pacemakers. He makes $170-200 k per year. Want to know what Medtronic offers for a car allowance? $470 per month. Once again, if you are on the fence because of the lack of fleet vehicle or targeting reports.....pass on the opportunity. It isn't for you. You have become victem to the cozy, spoiled, entitlement world of pharma. Go talk to a zerox, or ADP sales rep. and you'll find there is no fleet vehicle. That is true sales. Talk to them, they laugh at Pharma reps who think they actually sell. This is an opportunity for risk takers (although a small calculated risk in my opinion) who are willing to step outside of his/her comfort zone. A lot of money could be made with this opportunity. If it doesn't work out I am confident enough in my sales ability/track record to find another position. You obviously have some self doubt. If you didn't your thought process would be like "this opportunity only gives me $500 per month plus .18 cents per mile....who cares, I know I can sell and will more than make up for the money difference in the sales that I know I will deliver."

Instead you sit in your cushy big pharma job and worry about all the wrong things. Cadence doesn't need those types of people.

Just slightly inflate the amount of miles you record to make up any difference.

Buddy, this is NOT a Medtronic type of sales job you will not make even NEAR the 170-200 that top performing Medtronic reps make. Yes, Cadence is a great opportunity but there will be challenges selling IV acetaminophen in many hospitals where opioids are a fraction of the cost. Pediatric hospitals will be a slam dunk but you will not make significant bonuses selling in peds alone... you will have to have huge sales in the adult market.

Reality is that Cadence is not giving any of us stock options up front so no one will cash in if Cadence is bought out by another company. What we get is a good base salary and hopefully a non-pharma management style. But please...you are probably not going to make big money.

Start polling all the anesthesiologists you know... you will find a very mixed response. Hospitals are broke and they will penny pinch all they can. For adults, who cares if they get opioids? A little nausea, who cares? Tylenol? Not a very potent analgesic! Dilaudid works great! On and on....

Just a little dose of reality.... if you are such a start... why not go to device where your base is 50 and most is commission? Cadence is NOT that company.

The amount per mile is adjusted each month to reflect the current price of gasoline in your zip code. Therefore - you are protected if the the price of gas skyrockets.

Hey Moron, those reports are available and would be very beneficial given the large territories. Also, the car is a BIG deal and many would agree.
