Dear Client,
First, we would like to thank you for choosing to order your advanced cardiovascular testing
from Boston Heart. We recognize that it is a competitive market and that
you have a choice when selecting your lab partner. We greatly appreciate that you have given
us the opportunity to provide you with these services.
Unfortunately, the advanced cardiovascular testing market is experiencing decreased payer
reimbursement and restrictive coverage policies. The payers continue to decline financial
responsibility for advanced cardiovascular testing. We have aggressively taken actions to
increase efficiencies in our lab and decrease our fee schedule, but this has not been enough in
certain markets. After careful review of your account, we regret to inform you that we can no
longer offer you advanced cardiovascular testing services. This change will take effect on July
8, 2019.
We regret that the market is forcing Boston Heart to take this action.
Please feel free to reach out to me.

Yeah I had a few of my offices tell me that they received these letters from Boston. No need to wait until July. They all have already stopped. they have already moved on to the competition for their testing. I don't understand Boston's reasoning? Are they eliminating offices with requisitions that are not profitable or are they eliminating offices in certain states that aren't profitable?

BH is dead. If you are still there, you are in it for the paycheck only. Eurofins will just let this run dry. That is why the are going to cash only and firing clients. BH is unsellable. They are just trying to get the last drop of blood out of this "heart". Eurofins is delaying the inevitable. They are facing huge fines from the P&H fees that changed the industry and put Atherotec, Singulex, and HDL, out of business, the moment they close the doors or sell. The only reason they have not paid the huge fine is because they are an international company. Eurofins is just planning when it will be best time to take the hit on their P&L statement...…

Finally something on Cafepharma that makes sense. I wondered why they were never fined like their competitors. I wonder how long they will hold on? I can't see it going on for more than six months. I can't believe they are going to cash only billing,

Boston was/is in trouble like all the others. They acted as if they were holier than thou, but what they really were - was better at keeping a lid on their shenanigans. Eurofins has a little slush fund put away to pay the DOJ/OIG fines when they are demanded. True's worst days with the regulators and potential fines are yet to come, and it is told that the day of reckoning for them is coming very soon.

Chatter about yet another suit being filed against Boston. Perhaps has already been filed. This time around panels, have not been following the OIG guidelines for years. Reps being directed by their new president to push panels of profitable tests on clients. If a client feels Boston has a test that is medically necessary and they would like to order that test, Boston will only allow it if they pair that test with profitable tests that are likely not medically necessary. Forcing the client into either ordering unnecessary testing just so that Boston can turn a profit, or they are being turned off. Whats worse for Boston is word on the street is they just let go a slew of reps that are now more than happy to talk to the government about what this President has mandated. Time to make an example of these corrupt labs, be nice to see someone in an orange jumpsuit.

What boston offered was a niche cv panel which no other lab could offer at the time. The science behind is still solid but realistically this could not be profitable, no bill code. So The only way they could sell was borderline illegal. They should have shut it down back in the day or scale down to no more then a few dourness reqs per day.

So sad. How did this happen? This used to be such a great company. I thought TH would be the first to die not us. Who's left to carry the torch after Boston and True blow up?

Original Boston regime was legit. 100 million, yes cut a few corners but who doesn't. Europhins bought and installed this new President cut even more corners, failed at every initiative he put in place and now hes left with a skeleton crew of employees trying to keep the ship afloat.

If you didn't see the writing on the wall when first Susan left, then Kim, Matt, Judy, Cherie, Ruthie, Jeff, Frank, and Tom left then you weren't paying attention. You cant lose 90% of your leadership team and expect to survive. Jackie and Kathy were going to save the ship?? Get real.

Leaders? Hilarious! You do know that Susan and Kim didn't start this mass exodus they were shown the door. Ernie had enough. The others slithered out soon after. The real leaders were Ernie, Michael and the sales reps.

Reasons for failure - and you can't manage your way through these obstacles.

1. Insurance companies won't pay for the advanced tests anymore. They used to over pay.
2. Patients DO NOT want to pay any bills for these tests. They want insurance to pay it all.

This is the funniest thing I've ever seen on this site! Thanks for the laugh!

Agree with this statement. Ernie was a rockstar from a science perspective, but was a buffoon when it came to “leading”. Michael was a nice guy, but couldn’t lead a team of one. And saying the sales reps led the company? Really? You are so clueless.

I would add the failure started the day we changed CEOs the attitude that customers and representatives were of no value has been disproved. Bostonheart had a solid base of both which in a niche market you need. Sadly the bean counter wasn’t understanding of that side of the business.

So the salespeople are held in complete disdain by managers beyond front line level.
Those in charge believe the salespeople are stupid crooks - if they happen to be successful they believe it is because they are doing something illegal - or it's all because of the "science".
It is actually the c suite that developed, condoned, and encouraged the field to venture into the "shady".
They subsequently disappeared when their schemes were discovered only to blame it all on the sales force.
Well.....now there's no industry left - thanks to ALL those who were RUNNING the companies!

Don't agree with Ernie and Michael being the leaders but I do believe the sales reps were the ones that made Susan look good. She was not a good leader. She made some bad decisions that put the company in legal trouble that led to her departure. BH never had any strong leaders.
