It's not surprising that a W2 employed salesman, especially in an era of declining commissions and morale, would take on a 1099 role. It's also not surprising that Eurofins leadership would miss this as an issue.
In overlapping call points, like the naturopath wellness clinic, where CVD testing is just one portion of the business, the clinician is also a target of other suppliers from from genetic testing, toxicology, pain creams, allergy, aesthetics, and compounding pharmacies. In convoluted "collaborative" marketing and sales agreements with local and regional laboratories, there is a gap that is navigated by savvy reps to work both of the collaborator laboratories for income - one as a W2, the other as a 1099. If the agreement doesn't prohibit, it's probably in play. In situations where the call point doesn't overlap, one will see reps going just down the street from from an existing W2 client (Primary Care) to sell to a 1099 client (Dentist).
If the organization isn't billing Medicare, a 1099 sales rep is in play and compliant. But, there have been plenty of labs that ignore that, (looking at you South Carolina - e.g., PCLS.) From pharmacy compounding, to labs with wellness panels, to genetic testing, to toxicology testing, to regional labs, to allergy testing - it's all a 1099 opportunity. CardioDX, LabTech, ToxUSA, Giant Medical, Medicreations, Cellmedix are examples of companies on the hunt for a quality salesman that is in the territory

Hard to believe the company doesn't see what's going on and get rid of these double dippers.
Anyone know where DC went today?
Two more representatives left this week with more to come. Troy get a spine and let Pat know that lab experience can’t be replaced. The organization has deteriorated to fumes and wait just wait until the January meeting. You and Pat can talk to how we are weaker in the marketplace than a year ago but great things coming: like our esteemed Medical Board who will write nothing and the KAM program that was dead before it started. 2019 will be our year can’t you feel it already!
Seriously? Why make a comment like that? Char resigned. Probably the first of many to depart from the South region. The only leader of people in the company was the South RSD [DC]. He did more to promote, groom, train and develop reps. Stood up for his people; and that is a threat to the guy that thinks he knows all the answers [Pat]. DC didn't golf on company time, or doink his reps. DC never caused his team to go thru harassment training. Actually, had he done that, maybe he would be VP. Looking at you Troy.
There is no-one left with any leadership training or experience in Framingham. He's culled all the keepers out. Surrounding himself with zero talent, experience, leadership and knowledge. The few that challenge him are out the door. No HR, CIO, Marketing, Finance, BD, Procurement, talent left. Just our Reimbursement team and a clueless Jr. Sales VP that still prints out emails and watches porn on his company laptop.
Not a single initiative from 'Premier' Hospitals, to Expanded Menu, to Cardiologists, to ACOs, to restating the Financial Objectives, to Rehab, to another StratPlan Meeting, to Killing Lifestyle, to OIG Settlements, to become Par or stay nonPar, KAMs initiatives, has seen volume growth or revenue increase. Brussels is clueless and is on the 3rd overlord of the CLIA Labs in 4 years. Probably going to be on the 5th Pres in 4 years soon if we are lucky!
Very spot on reply. By the way we lost a rep in mid south area as well. We don’t publicize the turnovers but normally we find out someone left within minutes always before management. Being the honest company we are we choose not to publish any rosters because the names would change before the email would send. I am really surprised by how the affair rumors have cooled down I can hardly wait to hear that question answered on our next call.
um, you said 2 representative resigned. DC was fired and char....new mexico rep ? that no one knew. Lots of initiatives going on that you are not privy to. Many companies are dealing with talent drain in this economy. Again, above your pay grade. You've made a lot of inappropriate comments about VP and RD's with no proof. Angry, jealous, struggling rep. Go back to pharma and get micromanaged to death.
who left?Who left in mid-south?
