It's truely unbelievable that Waterford goes untouched. It had over 10% of B&L population. They must be going to sell off the lens business, to finance another acquisition!

Exactly the only reason why nothing happened at WF. MP wants to sell WF intact and wants to come across as if WF - Contact lenses is a great purchase for the suitors.
So WF jackasses that is why your ass will be creamed in six months to J&J and they SHALL move you to Limerick you morons.

As a US B&L employee I find it hard to swallow that Ireland hasnt been touched but I cant say Im surprised.
12.5% corporate tax rate is unbeatable in pretty much any where.
And for all the wise asses above that are saying WF will be sold to J&J etc. do you not think MP being the stand up type of guy that he is hasnt thought of using the WF plant as a laundering mechanism for profits from other plants \ businesses, cash funds within large multinationals with the help of a good finance director can be moved from place to place under the guise of "Internal Fund Transfers" etc etc and be pushed through a large plant like WF with the end result of only paying the 12.5% corporate tax rate.
Who knows how much profit the WF plant makes in a financial year "REALLY ???", the irish government arent going to rock the boat and jeopardize any company involved in direct foreign investment with Ireland and will be only too happy to facilitate with huge grant systems and lots of other financial reliefs other countries simply cant match.

So, yes, the clowns (a name i dont agree with as i believe they could teach most of their international counterparts a thing or two in business matters) have done well and will continue to do well, albeit at my own collegues and I detriment

Do your homework before you write an essay. Valeant already have a shell company in CityWest Dublin for this exact purpose. WF will be sold.

Quick status of the cuts
Berlin 70
Kingston 110
France 97

In all countries, about 50% of the support functions are cut, all BUs consolidated into one, most of the managers are let go.

In Zug Switzerland it's 35 out of 52 persons that are kicked out.
The remaining person will mainly be sales.

As we have 3 months of noticed period by law, by the end of 2013 there will be no more Global function at B&L swiss.

Half of Montpellier office is kicked out.

They want us to make a transition but I don't know how they want to motivate people for that.

Let's turn the page.

Go get em the little peeps!!

Toulouse R&D is gone.
UK 100 people gone.
Zug gone.
Total Europe close to 450 people gone per work council schedule this year alone, more to come.
Everything to be folded into regional Valeant model.
Europe now you are back to dark ages.
By the way please focus on Valeant's vicious need to go to Poland and former Eastern bloc for manufacturing. Watch out Berlin, Aubenas, Montpelier, Milan - you all are moving.

Do your homework before you write an essay. Valeant already have a shell company in CityWest Dublin for this exact purpose. WF will be sold.

YOU do your homework you twat, Valeant has doubled in size since the B&L aquisition, do you honestly think they can put through adequate amounts of finance from such a large business through such a small shell comapny as the one in Citywest without drawing unwanted attention. Idiot...

Take it easy there cowboy, enough with the racial slurs already.....
You're making an embarrassment of yourself, and doing nothing other then showing that you're jealous of how the WF plant people have dodged the bullets.

The Irish you're trying to take the piss out of are the very ones that have escaped the chop so far and probably will going forward due to their 12.5% corporate tax rate.

If WF is sold so will the Rochester lens manufacturing plant probably to J&J or some such, if Valeant are such fuckers to work for then maybe these lens manufacturing people are getting a lucky escape and have a way out, something most of the rest of us dont have and will be stuck with MP as our CEO and all the shit that goes with it.
