Biomet Microfixation

You might want to inquire about the factual test results before purchasing. As a present employee, I feel the locking is not accurate each time. several has to do with the physician and the other is the screw plate combo itself. Please ask for statistics on the locking screw and make your own conclusion. My advice is use something other than BM screws and plates. Your choice.

Adam is not a bad guy. Stands up for what is right. He fought to save the jobs in Jax. Corporate overruled. I am sure it is a tough place to work these days. It will turn around once the transfer is completed. R&D group tries hard, but very little comes out. Need a lot more experience there. I saw quality get better and the root cause analysis improve over the last few years. Prior to that it was inspect something every 3 steps. I look for it to slip as it moves to Warsaw and China. Ruined a great Ops group in Jax.

Let's bring it back to"old school," and learn more about AJ takin' a dump in a shoebox!

That is hilarious! Sounds like the TRUE "Good Old Days," Wally's Boat,Sea Turtle, liquor flowin' like wine, and PARRRRTY!

Layoffs, product quality issues, requlatory, price pressure, what next?
At least Joel Pratt got the boot!

What's funny---anybody even cares about BMF??

Joel didnt get the boot. He got a golden ticket out of there. Look up records of what he and his family cashed in in stocks. You all ask how Adam got his job... Nobody wanted it. Joel leaves and give the job to David Josa; a complete failure with 3i. He promises a shakeup with his I know all attitude. Then bails when he realizes he doesnt know shit and everybody thinks he's an idiot. Then you get another goo 'ol boy form Warsaw. He stays for, oh, a month, and bails. So.... lets hire the box shitter.

Many incredible people were let go because the idiots were smart enough to cover their tracks for the short term and put the blame on someone else. Fire them and get yourself six more months.

What a waste of talent, time and careers!

BMF is losing market share, losing distributors, losing respect, losing customer support-
AL takin' a dump in a cardboard box tells the whole story!
If you were President of ANYTHING-would you act this childish?
LOSERS!!!!!!!!!
I am just thankful that I got my $47/share when I could.

But com' on--The box shatter sounds like a Kurt Bucher prank!
AJ is a pofessional, and knows better. trained by "The Best" Cavanaugh-just ask him-he'll tell ya!
A stint @ RTI, and back to Waldo World-but a shat in a box??
I just don't get it? Someone tell me WHY?

So, are there any more layoffs coming? Is the company really this bad? What about the president Adam....is he really the incompetent dipshit you guys make him out to be?

Basically is this a company I would like to work for/with?

Thanks

Which distributors are going? As far as I recall (back in the day), the company only cared about 4-5 key areas - beyond that any jack-o with a pulse could fill the spot. All the distributors do is kiss-ass and fill trays.

BMF will continue to exist as long as some of their neuro accounts remain. It may not exist in JAX, but I don't think the private equity guys will get anything for selling them off completely at the moment. I wouldn't work for them now, all I hear from folks on the inside is it's like high school revisited. Though, that's not much of a change from the way I remember it.

I hear AJ got the job because Gary Blackall didn't want it. When David left (I guess he saw the private equity writing on the wall and bailed to his safe spot at 3i), Biomet execs only interviewed the in-house leadership. Roman and Dean were easily ruled out, there was no Sales VP and Blackall pretty much said he didn't want it. AJ wasn't a bad choice.

But to dump in a box is just dumb. Makes sense for Roman, but AJ isn't playing baseball anymore. Makes sense for Cavanaugh too, but he never got to that next level. If you're a sales lead with Synthes, Osteomed, Aesculap, etc - all you have to do is start spreading the word that BMF parts are (ultimately going to be) made in China and the president is mid-thirties and dumps in a shoe box. Hope they all get relocated to Warsaw.

Have heard from very reliable recruiters that Biomet is looking to replace some bigger (microfix)distributors with direct sales channels. Power is corrupt. Greed is evil. Growth is not a given. Arrogance is not rewarded. Humility is a lesson in reality.

Pinkslips shall be delivered in a "shoebox" (along with a freeze dried "log" from Adam J.), to be forever remembered as a symbol of excellence, accomplishment, and character. The "shoebox shatter" has spoken.

Hope they all get relocated to Warsaw? That isn't very fair. Yes, the inmates are running the asylum but there are several hard working, dedicated employees that do the best job they can considering what and who they are working with.

The word about Biomet Microfixation has spread to other websites and chat rooms. BM is a topic of jokes among peer competitors. I went into a hospital just a few days ago and the topic about the parts being made in China gave both of us a really bad taste. I can’t imagine BM going to China to make their parts. We had a recent recall of some BM components, internal recall for packaging concerns. Wrong part in the right package, if that makes sense. Guess what BM’s response was? Again? We’ll make it right this time. All the folks that were trusted to make this product have been let go or left because the writing was on the wall. I pray that Biomet will change course soon as the market share, after some contracts expire, will suffer immensely. I hate going to a customer and being inquired about the “China Move”. It is absolutely ridiculous. Looking at the FDA website, you will find several hundred recalls from China manufacturers. The last time I was at BM, the people there did not have a good look on their faces. It was kind of sad to see people walking the hallways with a fervent look on their faces. Everyone I spoke to was either looking for a job or have been offered and will leave soon. I just do not want to go inside this building anymore and bring customers to see what a pitiful look the employees have. In fact, I have been indirectly asked not to go on the manufacturing floor or in the engineering offices for fear that the customers will see this unhappiness. Most business is done offsite anyway. We spend a huge amount of money to gain customers and the same amount to keep what we have. I wish all those that leave or are forced out the best of luck. I am at retirement soon so it does not matter for me. For the folks that were fired or laid-off wink wink, good luck. As for the president, I am sure is sorry for mentioning at a company-wide event of what he did to a VP. The president is a very nice and thoughtful person but he is having his strings pulled by the Warsaw gang and owners. I am sure if it wes up to him all those that were fired or laid-off would be working. Just think of all the families that BM has displaced or changed thier lives forever. Look at all the other medical device companies going forward and making money. Even the smaller companies are making more money than BM is now.

Adam did this while he was a product manager when he was about 25. He still has a kid's sense of humor. He tries to make the job fun. Unfortunately, corporate made it no longer fun, at least for the ops group. It is tough even for those that still have jobs. Gary Blackall didn't turn down the President's job, Sasso never offered it to him because he was a finance guy. He would have been a good choice in my opinion. Sharp guy.

so doing this while he was a 25 yr old product manager makes it more appropriate??? they are known animals with better self control. pretty low standards you got there. sharp must = wet noodle.

BiometMicrofixation.....going...going....gone....Fact! Reliable sources have confirmed. Talk about "Impact a Life"! It seems like the team members that were let go are the lucky ones. I don't understand how corporate allows them to remain so TOP HEAVY???? Are there REALLY that many engineers needed when 87% of manufacturing was moved???(PROFIT) How many successful companies can you name that have MORE engineers than MACHINISTS or MACHINES???? Isn't that your bread and butter??? The hand writing is LITERALLY on the wall!!! New carpet, new paint job, new deck, new awnings, new furniture, new skills center, AND a freshly paved parking lot. All this for 30-35 employees that are foolishly remaining. Think about it....can you say PINK SLIP AND NO SEVERANCE PAY???? Sorry we can't afford the serevance we promised because we spent all our money on the items mentioned above! If the new owners are smart and I'm sure they are, they will clean house, TRUST NO ONE, starting with the VP of Quality..... In other words bring in your own crew!!
