Any word on MS Panel Interviews?

Strange, my call involved my initial compensation expectations when I posted for the job. This was a non issue throughout the phone screens. Today I get a call asking if I would consider xyz dollars for a salary. This happened to two others I know on the east coast. All of us declined and withdrew. Not going over to Gene for a couple grand, they should have told us up front instead of nickel and diming us a month or two later. Oh well, no hard feelings but thought Gene salaries would be higher.

Ditto, same happened to me. Appears that

they won't go over 145k salary. Nooo way. The manager, not P1 tried convincing me to take less money and still fly to Chicago for panels. Most talent already earns that or near that so high salary seekers, take less money or bow out. Good luck.

I heard it could be 2 weeks from the last point of contact with p1 until They call to schedule the panel interview.

Anyone else hear the same?

There is a bit of delay and this delay could be anywhere from one to two additional weeks. So don't panic or second guess yourself. The schedule has been pushed back a bit.

I'm the previous poster who got a call yesterday from P1 to schedule my panel interview for week of May 2. Because I'm not available on the requested date, I have been awaiting another call to reschedule. I just received a call from a different person from P1 congratulating me on making it to panel interviews. It was obvious she didn't know i had already been called and she was not calling me with an alternative date. Right hand doesn't know what the left is doing at P1. It's a bit concerning.

In as well! Best of luck!

I'm out. Teamwork/Collaboration reason. Reading script. Unreal.

Be thankful. Your next move to f2f interviews would have been dreadful and only to find out you were a seat filler would have been devastating. Count your blessings. Gene is not all that, trust me. Great perks, yes, horrible culture...very back stabbing naracistic people who will walk all over you. Not for the faint of heart. I'm happy that I'm in and don't have to jockey for those spots. Good luck to u.

i agree with all the posts about p1 but they have actually been pretty timely just clueless. My panels April 26 in Chicago. Seems like it's going to be firing squad w tons of behavioral questions really drilling down on collaboration and teamwork. Good luck to all

I just got a message that said I am still in the running but they are waiting for managers input before they will know more. I would guess this isn't a good sign. I'm sure to expect one of the reasons you all have listed above.

Wow, you are a piece of work. Actually, more like a piece of crap. How dare you imply so many people are seat fillers. Genentech is looking for the best and not just internal candidates. No one appreciates your back handed comment. And no, you are not in. Regardless of what you think.

Wholeheartedly agree as an insider to the members only DNA country club. Not for faint of heart that's for sure where brown nosing gets you somewhere and white males are discriminated whether it be hiring or promotion. But those dying to dive in won't take any of it? Y'all be warned.
