Any word on MS Panel Interviews?

If you are a manager, you should be ashamed of the arrogance of the reps that work for this Company. I've never seen anything like it. I do disagree with you, though. I think that most reps have been cherry picked for these roles and the areas that are open are ones where they have a very low level of talent. In some of the major areas, there were many very qualified candidates and the ones that are being chosen to move on were kind of hand picked. P1 and the manager wasted many of the reps time. Also, to give the same "bogus" answer as to why we are being disqualified..."decision making"...is absurd. Can't they come up with several reasons, LOL. WE ALL got the same response. Plus, if Genentech uses P1, that's another BIG problem due to how horrible P! is.

Finally we get a sincere post from someone and then you have to leave this kind of message? I'm no expert, but I have seen this before. The arrogance of "all these reps" probably amounts to about two people that have no lives and continue to post. I have no doubt about that. My encounters with several people from Genentech have been nothing but good over the years so I'm not changing my opinion based on anonymous posts that are again probably left from a few head cases. It sounds like you are not moving forward and you are a bit upset yourself. You got an appropriate answer at this poin considering you hadn't gone through any face to face. You had a phone interview along with several hundred other people. Perhaps they just had stronger candidate than you and that's that. With the shear amount of applicants which has been enormous, they aren't going to go deep on why you weren't selected, especially when they never met you in person. So take you personal hurt feelings out of this and realize just how many people they have to funnel through. All your comments are just feelings and not facts and you have no idea who they are going to select. Your comments are absurd. At least wait to see who ends up with these positions before you bitch. Life the other post, I have a feeling it will be an equal mix of internal and external but I have no way of knowing how this will come out until it happens and you don't either. If you weren't selected to move forward, okay it just wasn't meant to be and something better will come along. I certainly wouldn't be hanging on this thread and complaining when you just need to move on. Maybe they picked the worst recruiting company but when you have thousands of candidates that then get funneled down to hundreds, what do you expect them to do. Interview for 6 months?

I have been selling in the MS Market for 7 years, it is filled with entitled, winy salespeople who think they are physicians.

The Genentech culture seems perfect for the sales reps currently in MS, they are just mad that one exclusive club now seems better than the exclusive club they are in.

The only thing special about MS Reps in how much we are paid.

I've got news for you. The INDUSTRY is filled with entitled whiny salespeople not just the MS market. The negative messages on here some from two sources: 1.overly sensitive people that were not selected and now are disgruntled and blasting negative Genentech messages. 2. A few internal candidates that leave multiple posts to discourage competition. I know three genentech reps and think they are very nice and professional and have encouraged me to go for this job. They love working for Genentech. It's so easy for anyone to leave and post multiple messages and truly believe it's coming from an extremely small percentage of people.

Agree! I have internal former colleagues that love it. There is a reason that 5k people applied. I would also discourage the use of an anonymous website to be your source of information .......... "Bad Decision Making". Good luck to those moving on.

How immature and classless can you people get? Reading these posts are pathetic. Sounds like a lot of short dick men on this site. Why don't you all do the world a favor and not post anymore? These types of messages are complete trash and useless. Also, drop the "Y'all" as its extremely annoying and childish. On second thought, please save it when you interview so the hiring manager knows you are one of the idiots that post this trash.

Bottom line is this. Of course Genentech will select some strong internal candidates but they will take a good amount of external strong candidates as well. This is a fact. The company isn't stupid and they want extremely successful and talented sales people with proven successful track records that work well with others. They want a strong launch and want the best people for the job. This isn't rocket science.

To the well-intentioned, normal and sane people out there:
If you get the call to move forward, you will have a good chance to get the opportunity. They are looking at BOTH internal and external candidates. You are not a seat filler. The company isn't going to invest time, airline tickets and other expenses just to bring you out. There will be two rounds of panel interviews about 45 minutes each. As most know by now, interviewing will start next week and will conclude in the final week of May. Pay no more attention to these incredibly ignorant and vicious posts. They are meant to try to throw people off their game and discourage. If it isn't already abundantly obvious, these short dick men that have been posting this useless trash banter have revealed their own insecurities just like children. It's hard to believe that grown men act this way isn't it? Truly cringeworthy. These are the types of idiots that give pharmaceutical reps a bad name. I guarantee that most of these idiots will not end up with the job. It's hard to hide this type of behavior and character. Don't listen to this crap anymore.

One more thing. I'm one of the hiring managers. I'm ashamed of the arrogance of some of these so-called existing Genentech reps. Fortunately, most are not like this.

Sounds more like Genentech HR reacting to the overwhelmingly negative sentiments here.

Spot on and agree that most the reps both internal and external have been mostly cherry picked already. It's just that Genentech won't disclose how many or what percent of the new MS openings have been filled by the internal candidates. That said many reps see it as a great opportunity to branch out into a new job, new people, potential for gang buster launch while still employed by Genentech - best of all worlds.

Sounds like the entitled and thin-skinned Genentech hiring manager with short dick infatuation upset over anyone dare to voice their view?

I had a phone interview with the guy out of new orleans and I can tell you that he is a loyal member of the country club. I am hearing that he is moving internal people for Little Rock, Memphis, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mobile, and Shreveport.

Lol you're so immature that it's laughable. You're a joke. Truly. Don't bother going for the job if you're still in the running as you won't get it. Not for the reasons you think, but you won't get it. Unbelievable how a grown person can act. You're an embarrassment.

"I am hearing". Wow, what a gossip. You have no sources other than you're disgruntled you're not moving forward. Tell you what, go ahead and make that claim if that ends up being the case and they are all hired internal positions. Until then, grow the hell up.

You're once again proof that the majority of these narrative messages come from one source.... Your "sounds like..." Messages are too close apart ...so next time, try your hardest to make them sound like they are coming from two different sources. YOU DIDNT GET THE JOB.....SO GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON. GEEZ, YOU HAVE PROBLEMS.

I take it that YOU got the JOB? 3 posts back to back filled with anger so I take it you DID NOT get the JOB. Pathetic and real life LOSER SOB ASSHOLE!

Not surprised at all. The dice was loaded from the beginning and the Genentech reputation for hiring & promoting within the country club continues. It has worked and served them well so far in the Onc franchise but one has to wonder how the in-bred insiders will fare in the new and competitive MS therapy franchise...

Anger??? Pleeeeeease give us all a break. I'm leaving messages that it's possible for both internal and external candidates and you are the idiot that leaves negative GENENTECH posts. Grow up and get a life.

I totally agree with all you stated. ARROGANCE is prevalent amongst reps on this board. It's disgusting. Using P1--low-life , incompetent losers...makes me happy I didn't get a panel interview. I'm disgusted with P1 an the haughty attitude of G reps!! Sick!

Oh puhhhhhleeeze--5 K applied as 5K plus more need the job. Get off your high horse Mr. or Mrs. arrogance. It's disgusting the attitude of Genetech reps on this board and thread. Grow up and get some humility!! SICK

Agreed

5K apply for EVERY pharma/biotech job! This arrogance G has is repulsive.

..okay, so they passed on you. Get over it. Continuing to post on a company website where you have either been rejected or just clearly do not like, is just strange. The only thing that is clear here is that all the negative posts are coming from disgruntled people that got rejected.

Your message above speaks volumes. Okay, you don't like Genentech. You made your point. Staying on here and responding to posts and trolling this thread is just weird. You clearly have no life.

For this company to be voted for "#1 best company to work for", their seems to be lots of vitriol from within. Would make one reconsider if they want to take a chance. Peace to all. Hope you find it.
