Amgen Onc RML's

All what I have to say is that I am looking forward to this week's EDGE meeting. It is a time that we can all build our skills and develop into better people and ONC RMLs. I know that I can also personally develop from these weeks that I wished that they offered this at least once a quarter instead of once a year. Time management, active listening, OL development are all tasks that we need to do our jobs.
Being taught by people that are experts in these areas will help us in our roles and jobs to represent Amgen in a very positive way.
Look forward to seeing everyone next week!!

TOP TEN THINGS TO KILL TIME AT THE EDGE MEETING

1 Listen to mp3 player
2 sneak newpaper into general sessions
3 surf internet with company smartphone
4 think how sweet it would be to get RIFed (are you kidding me, 24+ weeks of pay)
5 guess what's under BA's turban
6 practice congrats to BA without actually laughing
7 play jargon bingo, today's phrase is "at the end of the day"
8 try to figure out what it is we actually do anymore
9 start pool for the date of disbanding the RML team
10 take the most recent body count, how many RMLs have departed in the past year...

So let me get this straight ... the topic here is no longer Todd Yancey losing his medical license in New York for inappropriate conduct with patients??? But I thought that was a fun topic!

Top 3 problems with oncology RML organization -1) managers, 2) managers, 3) managers. Two friends work for this group and both have said it's gone from bad to worse. Egotistical, butt kissing group who don't seem to listen to their direct reports. Worst areas seem to be northeast, southeast, and west geographies. Bad management = crappy job.

After reading all of these comments I'm glad I didn't apply for that position in Seattle. What a mess. Company in trouble and management is screwed up. My friend said she wasn't happy but I didnt know it was this bad.

I cannot stand the EDGE meeting... and this was the worst one yet. It was useless to sit through change management... They should have just given us a copy of Who Moved My Cheese... The Goals session was just a tremendous waste of my time. I hope to god we don't have budget for it next year... And BA on the stage saying that this is about our development??? What exactly did we learn? The only thing that was useful was the therapeutic training...

And JD saying we have CASH!!! We had better get a bonus next year...

EDGE was only about promoting KL, the rest of the development/training team, and SS. I've never heard so many lame jokes and seen such overt butt kissing -KL's "Mr. Vice President" to BA - give me a break. Her lips are brown from kissing BA's butt. And GOLE is a joke. SS has been useless at implementing this database. Onc RMLs leadership team is a disaster and the rest of the leadership crew doesn't seem much better. Are these people so isolated in TO that they don't see and hear the field's groans and mumbles about their "very important undertakings." At least now more onc RMLs are vocalizing their frustration and saying out loud what most of us have been thinking for years - it's only about falling in line with whatever management says. That's crap and until there are changes in management we will continue to lose RMLs. Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!

The EDGE meeting was carried out because they contracted many outside services prior to the ESA debacle and the money was already spent. I would agree that KL was over the top kissing up to BA and his new role as VP (much like being promoted to the capt. of the Titanic as the life boats are being lowered). As for GOLE, what's the real purpose for it anyway? It's nothing more than a metric for a metric's sake, just call reporting. Amgen loves a "process" and the RML organization is full of them. As for the leadership team, what do you expect? BA likes his direct reports to be: 1) willing to sacrifice themselfs, their families and lifes for the company 2) silent, no talking, no complaining, just shut the hell up and fill out this spreadsheet, get your expenses done on time and make my bonus big, and lastly 3) fair-haired and female...

I agree and what a waste of time and resources! I don't think these illustrious Directors know how tie their own shoes and wipe their dirty asses. What a big joke, just like GOLE!!!

i don't know about fun but i googled the ny medical board report and it is quite interesting. that is what happens when you think with the wrong head. i bet that he wishes he could have a do-over.
