Amgen Onc RML's

Oncology RML in Houston is Beverly Abbott. The Amgen organization sucks. They are a bunch of scoundrels... no work life at all. They want to suck the blood out of your soul.

I agree the current Amgen organization sucks. However, from an RML perspective what is "sucking the blood out of your soul" - asking for more than one call a day? RML's do 1/10 what Sales Reps do, have ZERO sales accountability, AND are paid at a higher pay scale!! Outrageous!! Only in a Marketing-Driven organization would this type of financial dislocation be able to occur.

Management team SUCKS! The worst in the business. RR isn't doing anything about it either. SC, MT, TB, BC, MY, SB all are really bad with some worse than others. Everybody is looking to leave after bonus time in March. The flood gates will open!

SIMPOL sucks worthless complex piece of crap that gives no data. BECAUSE nobody puts data in. Just use one stupid system, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO since it was bought and we have to use MDea that does nothing. Another waste of time and money.
What else is new?

GOLE and SIMPOL are useless! Neither give good reports - they are full of discrepancies (mostly because only a few people log stuff in there).

I think that this might be the time to look for a new job... Or maybe I should wait for a RIF so I can get a severance check and take my time. Not sure.

I think that 2008 is going to be another bad year for Amgen... it is getting a bit ugly now.

First, if you think that posting here will get Bill's (or anyone important) attention then you are delusional. Second, Amgen loves a "process" and the spreadsheets, Simpol, Gole, Orion, etc are all processes so Bill and his cronies can show the people funding the RML group how productive we are. BA cares about one thing, BA. As far as I can tell nearly all of the current field-based directors have been hand picked by Bill and all of the TO based directors are. This is the BMS way and if you haven't figured that out then you need some remediation. Lastly, don't expect any changes unless its a complete restructuring of the RML team at about 1/2 its current head count...

Two more gone.

Amgen ONC RMLs are overworked and underpaid. Management is milking every ounce of sweat out of us. DO NOT COME TO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY! Most of us are here only until bonus time and then its adios!

Like this is new news? Most of us are tired of the inept, usually horrible middle management morons. Don't bitch, at least we have small territories unlike 99% of the other companies I've been interviewing with!

My manager told me to promote my product off label and put it in writing for me so I wouldn't forget .

Amgen would never hint at promoting anything off label.

Hey, is anybody going to go and watch the Amgen Tour of California when it comes to town? Those bike riders are amazing.

Too funny. And then Amgen doesn't even see to it that they test the riders for our own drug.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/17/sports/othersports/17cycling.html

"And now, organizers of the Tour of California, who boasted after last year’s race that no riders tested positive for banned substances, have acknowledged that riders were not tested for what has become the sport’s most abused drug — the blood booster known as EPO."

Sounds like the work of our safety group.

Now that Amgen has a huge MSL group and Neulasta is circling the drain with Aranesp when are the layoffs going to happen? I think at least not for another year Scientific affairs will be able to CYA at least that long. After that, run!

Management had to hire all those people else they would not meet their MIP goal.

One of the reasons they got the fat bonuses this year is because they met their goal "Advance Denosumab / Fully met hiring objectives". Who cares that they don't have an approved drug and are an incredible waste of money/talent and contributing to eroding morale. Be happy that management got their bonuses.

check the box, check the box. Things never change at Amgen.
