AIT Laboratories

I see there are numerous openings for CTs (again). Is they there to maximize the number of samples from the remaining large accounts?

There are usually a lot of postings. That part has not changed. If the CT part of AIT is like the sales part, I would not be surprised if it's high turnover or if they are posting for positions that they have no plans of hiring for anytime soon.

It appears SL has not only turned his head on a former AIT rep going to another competitive lab in PA, but he sent the company a recommendation letter!! So for everyone that is worried about a non-compete being enforced, don't sweat it. AIT, SL, the former rep, & the PA lab can all be subpoenaed and if they allow just ONE to knowingly "compete" without enforcing, then the rest of you guys will be allowed as well. Also, you can sue for back pay!

What a Junior Varsity move SL! Will this get you benched?

There hasn't been a rep in PA for 6 months! Both PA reps were fired and I don't think severance was offered. Any threat from a non compete cannot prohibit someone from working.

The last PA rep, CT, was laid off in March. You are correct that it was almost 6 months ago, but the point is AIT has attempted to enforce non-compete agreements in the recent past. I have personal knowledge that they did so in Kentucky and have heard they done the same in other states.

They cannot enforce one but not another, and they certainly cannot encourage a former AIT employee to work for a competitor and write a formal recommendation while trying to enforce a non-compete on another former employee.

Are you saying they did or did not try to enforce the non compete on CT?

Scare tactics at their finest, but completely bogus. Give someone 6 months of severance, like should have been done in the case of Pa or other tenured reps, then yes, I would not risk going to a competitor during those 6 months. 2 weeks is a joke. Tell a judge that you gave an employee 2 weeks of severance and that the employee needs to go on unemployment in lieu of taking an offer from a competitor..now, repeat the last sentence out loud and see how credible you will sound. Now imagine Scott saying that in court with gravy slopped on his tie, while Tuna with a G cringes because she knows they are both on the verge of being laughed out of court. For those of you who are slow, Tuna with a G would be our legal counsel. If you would like to checmy back later, my next topic of discussion will be "tracking of keystrokes" on company equipment.

As OJ says, "It happens!" BTW, I got 6 weeks severance

I would love to hear about keystroke tracking. We do this?

They should probably be more concerned with declining sample volume and terrible employee retention schemes like the noncompete? But what do you expect? CEO is an attorney by trade, and our corporate counsel seems to be running the show lately...

It looks like the resignation in inside sales and the removal of two posts for hiring might have made up fort the need for more cost reductions. With the losses that keep coming in, it won't be long till the sales force is down to 7.
