The two weeks the letter refers to is more about allowing employed people to give their two week notices, not that it will take 2 weeks to do a back ground check.
good luck! I have worked off and on for this company for 10 years and I have finally just had it with them! I hope they dont screw all you guys, but I saw them do it to us 2 times this past year!
I also have had it waiting 4 weeks to get my offer. I have an interview for NON contract tomorrow with Merk. I guess things do really work out for the best. Best of luck to everyone.

Yes--learn to spell Merck and you are lying---when Merck hires, it is only contract AND they are nnot hiring now---getting ready to lay off 1300. Too many of their drugs are going off patent and nothing is taking the place of those meds!!! I am x-merck and know this for a fact.
6517 will happen. Just be patient. The reason why companies hire CSO reps is for filling a specific need. Large corporations have processes that require your patience and this is beyond your control. If you are not a part of this process you cannot speculate the outcome. Go on to something else until you get the final letter in the meantime. Stay positive. This contract will occur.
I'll bet against you on this. They're pulling the CNS J&J Reps over to fill the openings.
Contract will get the leftover spots.
Is this just a quess or have you been told by a CNS rep with J&J that this is what is going to happen?
does anyone know what is going on with quintiles contract? I guess the September 19th start date will not happen??? This is crazy!
My Quintiles manager said it is still on and that was Monday. Was vague about start date but said the company is aware of people desiring to give 2 weeks notice but that may not be possible....
They were vague about the start date because they dont have a start date unitl after they hear from FDA on final approval, or not. The start date will be Nov. 14th pending Afib approval, that way they can screw us by having home study during the holidays when people arent working anyway. Just my opinion, of course!!
Just an FYI for those that hold out hope. The last 3 contracts went down quicker than the Titanic.
-The one in Feb#6460 reps were abt to get hired when partnering company sold out to Forest.
-The #6531 one this summer that was supposed to start in fall, fell apart bc they did not get FDA approval.
-The diabetes one this July that fell apart b/c the partnering company was in litigation with another big pharma co.

Just be patient rather than speculate which way it will go. Every project has an unique need. There is a lot of benefit for having this project. Be positive.
What's your point? The above situations do not apply here.
I'd be happy to study on my mother's birthday and my anniversary if they just make this happen. Of course if I could find something better then I won't be on Cafep.
Arent you speculating by being positive??? Being positive or negative makes no difference its all up to J&J and the FDA on Nov 5th...until then no contracts are going to go out...
That's a good point - yes, I am speculating to be positive since the word has been positive, albeit a delay.
You mentioned Nov 5th. Do you speculate that offers would go out sooner for that start date as often they are many weeks prior to the start date?
Where has your insight come from? I understand there may be a meeting early Nov and felt that offers soon so that training is done by that time.

I wouldn't care when training begins, as long as it begins and I have a job for as long as possible. In this economy the more job security I have the better. large territory, training during holiday season, it does not matter to me. Just bring on the job offer! I'm there!
