I am ALL for letting failures fail and am against government propping up failures.
when a government is being run by big banks and corporations, you will see such games played out like those during 2008-2009.
this is one of the reasons to avoid an over-concentration and centralization of power and devolve more powers to community, local levels.
take the national budget and divide it up by some allocation factor(s) (population density, resource (un)availability, ...) and distribute amongst more localized power structures for the management of operations and projects that benefit their own communities and help, if needed, those around them. communities may also form together to pool budgets and resources. i could go on with this, but it's kind of late.
