as more and more IC's learn Defibs, Eps will be left with their EP clinicals wiping drool off their chins during 3 hour mapping cases while ablating assumptions.

"I think............
"What do you think............/

yea, lets burn that one

Since NASPE/IBHRE stopped offering the back-door credentialing to IC's, are there any formal or semi-formal routes for an experienced brady-only IC to take to delve in to ICDs? I mean, obviously they can convince their local privileges outfit, but in the big picture (which includes malpractice insurance premiums) what is the best approach for an IC to take?

Their are very few IC's implanting ICD's and they are the most unqualified and should be stopped. If you have a loved one in need of an ICD and its an IC doing the implant....RUN!!! You need a real EP who has studied the discipline and understands ALL of the potential issues. It's a joke we allow IC's to be involved with ICD implants.

Biotronik's best customers are IC's they trained and back doored the process. Most even before the grandfather clause. This company has done things to destroy the fabric of Electrophysiology.

? Biotronik has 5% marketshare. how can any company be so impactful on an industry that has for years partied partied and partied to establish incredible relationships with their physicians?

Biotronik is surely making great strides but they aren't culpable for any negativity in EP.

another st jude explanted today. Atlas VR with a bunk Riata lead. The company lied about the lead. But, doesn't matter. It got capped. I was impressed that the Atlas last as long as it did.

Anyways, this makes up for the gen change I lost last year to StJ. My 3rd of the year (2 BSX and 1 STJ) that I've won from them.

crazy shit.

BIO is a bunch of scum bags!!! BIO is putting in a BIV at Tricity MC for $14-$17K for the entire system!!!! Dr. Whore is the biggest hack! Implanting Card with shit hands, no ethics and has no business touching pt's...period! Way to kill ASP's and pt's all in one swoop! Idiots!!!

it's one case. why do you even care? i guarantee if this doc that you speak so negatively of would have called you for the case that you would have been there.

and which number is it? 14-17K for an entire system is a big spread. either way, i doubt losing this one case will impact medtronic much.

Here's the definition of stupidity....claiming that BIO is killing ASP's on a thread entitled <5% Market Share...

I understand it drives you crazy, but if your product was better, cheaper or easier to use....Docs wouldn't give us a second look. Go talk to one of your grown up reps about how ASPs were when they were little like you...CRM has been a commodity market for some time now, and you can count on ASPs to keep going the way they are, and not because a 5% market share vendor is already doing business on the margins....this Tail is not Wagging the Dog.

You need to seriously evaluate how much money you need to "live" and I think youmwill find that CRM is not going to provide that for much longer.

MDT is in great position to "bundle" and will force others hands into expensive acquistions.

They can play the price game and still make 70% margin in CRM, and stents. So, when renal denervation and Corevalve are approved, try list price/90% margin on procedures that will EXPLODE from 2014-2018.

Omar was smart, he did nothing to build this pipeline but will get all the credit. hawkins did all the dirty work and got nothing but grief but LAPPED starks and the BSX dumb and dumber duo in terms of setting the table for MDT to have 50 share(minimum) in tomorrow's cath/hybrid labs in most lines.

I bought stock at 31.........................

You can't name one acct where MDT is less than BIO on any product. Can't wait until MDT starts pricing you out of the game and starve you out of business. BIO can't survive that tactic nor can your house and car payments. I suggest you start living by your own advice.

"Can't wait until MDT starts pricing you out of the game and starve you out of business."

Isn't this what your silly ass has been accusing BIO of in this thread? Its different when its MDT doing the undercutting, right?

Here's the bottomline: if you guys plan on competing with us on price, they will need to fire alot more people such as your self.....so don't be praying TOO hard for that opportunity to watch me being priced out.

Exactly...now you get it you moron. It comes full circle now.....BIO started something it can't finish. Follow me here dumb dumb...BIO doesn't have the deep pockets to play the lower pricing game that MDT can. MDT will agressively engage in the pricing game at a level BIO can't afford to play. Therefore, as BIO attempts to compete, their reps start making less and less $ while MDT reps remain whole. MDT picks up more MS and hires more staff to cover while MDT reps remain whole. BIO loses MS trying to keep up while BIO reps work harder and make less $....do you follow the trend here? BIO is creating their own demise. Your business model doesn't work long term so enjoy it while it lasts.

Pricing wars? Try capiitation. Everybody pays the same. Hospitals and doctors love this. Medtronic hates this. That's where its going.

By the way, Medtronic has $3300 DDD pacers back in 2002 in Pennsylvania. My prices were $8600 at the time.

Regardless. My point is the same. Didn't say MDT hasn't lowered ASP's to get on contract in certain strategic acct's so why would BIO drop theirs if they're not on the account? We all do that. To your Capitated pricing point, BIO reps can expect to make 60% less in 2013 than they did in 2002. That is my point and that is not a sustainable business plan. Because MDT has been creating and adapting to this business model for years, my pay has increased YOY since 2002. BIO cannot afford to adopt any of the BIG3 business models and remain profitable and continue to pay staff what they have been getting over the years.

My belief is BIO will have to remain a very small market niche company or BIO will be bought out. BIO can't compete in the large markets, they will try but they will get their ass kicked. Most BIO reps once worked for one of the Big3 at some point and either failed or they are running from a reputation where they could hide in small market accounts long enough to where they can still make a little $ but those reputations catch up to you and most BIO reps aren't skilled at earning business at the big league level.

CRM blowhards have been saying the same thing for 5, 10, 20 years now but yet there they plugging away and gaining MS. No, they are not at double digit numbers yet but they are getting there. Where are they gaining it? Right out from underneath those arrogant reps that walk around with an entitled view of their territories.

Biotronik is doing just fine and they aren't going anywhere.

Vegas is a city, not an account idiot. What kind of pricing did BIO have to give to get that acct? BIO got that acct because of the rediculous pricing which is the point of this thread.

Ummm... the largest accounts in Vegas are HCA accounts - capitated pricing.

Oh, and its "ridiculous," not "rediculous"
