120 Days At Zoll/ Please read if considering

Former achiever and rep here.
This place is not great.
I feel bad when I see LV reps in the hospital coffee shop waiting to take another lap on the step down unit, hoping that an mo gets approved or that negative adjustments don't drag them under the line.
The grass is greener.

I actually find it nice here at Zoll. But then again, I am an achiever. Most of you that post on here, struggle with the fact you never get recognition because you never achieve anything that you are held accountable to do here. Haters, please leave ok? You'll make us better as an organization

Bullshit. That's why you might actually fit in. You need to first learn to lie and deceive. It's the Zoll way. We all know this place is built on lies, and there is a single poster from management whose job is pretend that they're a happy "performing" rep or manager but doesn't actually say anything to lend any credibility.

Please tell us what you find nice about Zoll? Please include 1) quota, comp 2) Tech support 3) lack of clinical data 4) account managers controlling inventory 4) managing patients that get 3200.00 month bills because of insurance denials 4) managers without cardiac experience trying to teach how to sell device 5) upper management who could care less what your issues are, that have been created by tech support, that are hindering your ability to sell 6) the fact that 70 percent of the colleagues around you leave within a year and a half? So please tell us????

Very helpful and insightful post Mr./Mrs. RM!

As a side note, former "non-achiever" who did not get recognized at Zoll and left - actually I was an achiever for 18 months and then the broken quota system caught up with me. The thing I find most entertaining about my former position is I left in July and it is STILL vacant!!! No one wants that toxic position at that toxic company...

Sad, but an informal poll we had at one of our internal meetings found it only takes the average new employee here 5 days (yes, at the end of one working week) before they begin questioning their recent decision to join and less than 22 days before they are "open to new opportunities" with a different company. At least I credit Zoll Lifevest with leading in this area.

Sad, but not surprised on the results on your poll.

I remember getting the call in 2010 about the Lie Vest...and my thought was: what the F kind of product is this? And worse, I have to call on my trusted cardiologists with this piece of sh9t. No way I would do it, because I know I would get laughed out of the building.

I recall the recruiter was convinced on this, that it was going to take off.

Here is something you ALWAYS have to remember on a job search: the BEST jobs are the ones that are no advertised!

Second, when a recruiter calls you, you better do your research, because you know they don't give a sh5t about anything but getting bodies in front of management.

Finally, I think one poster here put it so correctly: don't be naïve and do your research before making any kind of jump. My advice to the younger generation is to find a place where the people are generally happy and proud to be working there. Also, when you consider the bonus, subtract about 50% from what they say the bonus will be. So, if they say you can make 10k bonus for the quarter, it is really closer to 5k, and many times, less.

Nobody in sales walks on water for at least 1-2 years to get a territory going. So, also look at turnover rates, and always ask why the previous rep. left. So many time, managers (I found out later) have lied about this. And I automatically know to never trust those fools.

Knowledge is power, remember that and you will be find. Cafepharma is a gem. So is Glassdoor employee reviews and Indeed employee reviews...but Cafepharma is the pure nuts because it is about 99% accurate!

When a medical device company the size of Zoll has over 25 sales openings across the nation.......it is a bad sign.

I have taken a job to get a job, but it looks like unemployment would be this deal.

Amazing to check back in since writing this feedback. Funny to think that my manager and perhaps all but one person in my region quit since this thread began. Good luck and best wishes to all.

From some of the initials that has been mentioned and looking through the RM's. He or she must be from the Texas area. My guess. Also mentioned was recording conversations are not illegal in Texas so you can do the math.

Recording conversations is not illegal in any state if it's for a civil lawsuit. Do the research.

All lies you pussy cocksucker!! Don't need a hundred minions when you have one true king.

This is one of the worst managed companies ever. Now the new president has a track record of completely messing up the company and blaming everyone else (but managing his own perception) this can only get hysterical. 120 days for anyone to realize how bad this place is can now be cut in half- 60 days.

Where are people going when they leave Zoll? I don't want to go to pharma and can't find another job. Been here 5 years and now cant make any money. Its ridiculous

Since this job isn't the stepping stone to device that you thought it would be most are going to pharma. Yes there are things about pharma that are not perfect, but you do make decent money and have good benefits. Vacation time is on elf them.

Same here. Every now and then I look to see the Zoll feed. Nothing changes, sounds like it's still a train wreck.

Best thing you can do is leave, it took me a long time to get a decent job because no good company respects Zoll ethics or as company! Run to the hills and get away from the Daiichi circle jerk, what a bunch of douchebags!

Sick to my stomach to be here. Believed the recruiter and manager and am miserable. Making no money, working nights and weekends, no data or guidelines. Sick, sick, sick.

Since I escaped Zoll my worst day at my new job is better than my best day at Zoll. Hard to believe the level of dysfunction until you've seen it firsthand. For those still there, I wish you well in your job hunting. Everyone leaves eventually.

5 years is a long time at ZOLL. Just keep putting your resume out there. It will happen for you. I did have some recruiters say no thank you just because I had ZOLL on my resume, but there many who were glad to work with me. Good luck. To others who are considering ZOLL only go here if you're unemployed. Don't leave a job to come here. At some point everyone here at every level hits a wall for a lot of different reasons. Leaving a bad job would be a mistake to come here.
