Contract reps.

Merck displaced a lot of experienced, high performing reps to make way for the contract reps to save on salary, healthcare benefits and retirement benefits, I think it's a sin!

We don't want to tell you our schedule because we do not want you to direct us. We have a small list of docs. and predetermined routing which all helps keep us at 24 hours a week. We want a flex time job. You get paid the big bucks to do the analyzing we make low pay, we are here to have a quick talk with the Doc. leave samples and go home.

Analyst here --- contract reps are kicking your ass. No budget. Minimum pay. No benefits. They are outperforming Merk reps in every criteria.

Dear Mr Phony Analyst. Contract reps are only in offices we already see. No way they can "kick ass" unless their measure was as the only rep in the offices. We are in these offices more often then they are and sample more heavily in all of the offices they see. Signed, Sorry To Burst Your Bubble.

Analysis being conducted weekly. contract reps are cheap labor and are able to leave the same sample on the same shelf.

You say cheap labor. Pay matters to 99.9% of people. Would you care much about a job that was just a full in till a better gig comes along? Some of these reps may be good, but doubt if its the high percentage when compare it to Merck reps. Weren't we all about high rated reps and the highest quality in everything we do?

They don't want us to know who they are seeing I tried to coordinate schedules so they were not in my offices before me but my cso's are not willing to do so.

Surely you can't be Legacy Merck or Schering CV and be surprised about this. This is how Merck ran roughshod over their SP counterparts for years.

You must be a pie-in-the-sky, rather, head-up-your ass Legacy Schering Respiratory rep who just realized they are on the outside, looking in. get used to it, never mind, don't, you won't have time to before you are on to do other things. going on interviews, cleaning out your office, turning in your car, signing up for unemployment........

Well yes... it is for 2 family incomes.... but yes the reps do have 10 years experience on average. The CSO is made up of Moms and retired guys. 99% are Moms who have done really well but have a husband with a good job. We work 24 hours a week and get 27.50 an hour we bring home 1100 every 2 weeks. We do not have to do ANY programs or ANY night time work. We get paid @.50 a mile which means we receive about 800.00 a month in an expense check. So we NO do not earn 80,000 a year but we have a NO STRESS part time job that earns us about 34,000 a year. We are at EVERY FUNCTION our kids have and we can ALWAYS be with them when they are sick. In my book that is a decent second income and a GREAT MOM job.

Sounds like no bacon even if fulltime. Time for career professionals to see that much of pharma is changing in some circles. Years of experience, education and proven results could now be worth so little. Sad, sad and more sad for those carrying a mortgage or looking for a career. Lets hope these folks are limited to getting patent ending products and short term only gigs.
