Zimmer Buyout

You have no clue what you are talking about. What reps and distributors have been let go? Nothing has started yet because it can't. The deal is not even close to being done.

No one knows what's going to happen anywhere. There is so much that has to happen just to get the deal done.

The deal is 'done'. This transaction has been discussed, negotiated, created and agreed to on very high, albeit, sophisticated levels way before it was publicly announced. The "only" thing left to do here is to feel out the 'public' and mold the 'presentation' of this agreement to 'satisfy' the public's (the media's) perception.~(piece of cake, relatively speaking)

The clip below is just a glimpse of what has already happened behind the scenes. Really very, very impressive how much intelligence and preparation goes into agreements like this. Wow.

Excerpt from an Article about the New York Times about this deal. The link to the complete article is below but not necessary to read entire story:

"Morgenson identifies an even more dubious fee practice early in her article, that of managing to get paid for services never performed. She discusses the sale of Biomet, a Warsaw, Indiana- based company sold by a Blackstone-led consortium for $13.4 billion, which included a $2 billion profit. But the carried interest and the transaction fees weren't all the general partners got out of this deal:
But for Blackstone and the other private-equity partnerships in the deal — overseen by Goldman Sachs, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and TPG Capital — this deal will be a gift that keeps giving. That's because, beyond the profits they share with their clients, they will be paid millions more in fees — for work that they are never going to do.
In addition to a 20 percent share of gains from the sale, as well as management fees of 1.5 percent to 2 percent charged to investors, the private equity firms will also share in an estimated $30 million in "monitoring fees." These fees were to be charged through 2017, but given that the deal is expected to close early next year, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, K.K.R. and TPG will be paid for two years of services that Biomet isn't receiving.

Biomet rep all the way from Australia adding some info to the mix. This is what happened at my recent one on one meeting fot contract talks with the zimmer management " smiling assassin manager." You can probably tell how I feel...ha ha
Anyway, this is our model for how it went and probably will go elsewhere...

Z manager opened by asking about me and the usual questions in a "interview" he then proceeded to spend a lot of time on how great the bonus structure was and how I would be earning 25k more than current package at Biomet. After much hot wind then came the crunch. He presents the contract and what do you know, my base salary will be reduced by 15k and car allowance will be reduced by 4k. Of course he said the usual things.....really sorry, really want you to stay, your a valuable addition to ZB...blah, blah, blah.
(In Australia we are on base salary, car allowance etc)

Meeting with all Biomet sales reps went the same way. All went backwards...most are unhappy and looking around. Some left.

good times.....:)

Bovee smoke may be the reason why KC can't decide on a leader. Right now we have both former Zimmer managers back stabbing the new guy in his own office everyday. Real nice place to work. Commissions and territories are being cut and the people we rely on to help are only worried about their own positions and could care less about the struggles in the field. Survival mode by everyone!

In the UK the Biomet accounts department have been told they're on the way out because ZB are moving the accounts function in its entirety to a call centre in India. How the customers and suppliers will love that.

Zimmer/Biomet is forcing all of the reps in Kansas City to sign their deals by Friday or else they're out. This is the same group that let the Zimmer rep in Wichita pick his own direction and leadership! How is it alright to let Wichita pick what they want and then force all of the others to take it or leave it? Make exceptions for one then you have to make exceptions for all.

WTF!! I just found out that the Wichita deal is true. C,mon man are you kidding me. This Zimmer guy pitches a fit and the whole powerful Zimmer/Biomet caves in? If they can carve him out then they can make our deals in Kansas City a whole lot better than what we are getting now. I guess we just aren't loud enough! Just wait...

If that is true about making an exception for a rep or a team then every single area in the country will have an exception! The entire system is put in jeopardy and simply will not work. No exception, period! After a year of waiting and this is what is happening?
