Will Pfizer keep us Iam scared !

Nobody will be retained...maybe the DDS but that is it, and that is questionable. Everyone else will be gone. I don't trust that Mike Ball made any negotiations to get any of us any good severance packages. The people most recently let go at Hospira received VERY LITTLE severance!

So the question is are they giving us the "normal" severance Pfizer gets or our measley "hospira 6 weeks even if you have been here 10 years" severance...

that is the real question.

Get your resumes ready.

Just like any other cult.
If Pfizer is so wonderful then tell me why the only way you stay afloat is by buying your products. If being a mindless robot is your idea of being fixed then take your company and shove it up your ass.

Being promotionally compliant is mandated by industry regulators and finding value for shareholders extends beyond internal assets. The mere fact that Pfizer has the money to do what ever it takes in the "long run" for shareholder value is what makes it so WONDERFUL! I suspect that its your attitude that will send you out on your ASS.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Former United States Securities and Exchange Commission attorney Willie Briscoe and the securities litigation firm of Powers Taylor LLP are investigating potential claims against the Board of Directors of Hospira Inc. (“Hospira”) (NYSE: HSP) concerning the sale to Pfizer Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, Hospira shareholders will only receive $90.00 in cash for each share owned.

The investigation centers on whether Hospira’s Board of Directors is acting in the shareholders’ best interests, whether the board considered alternatives to the acquisition, and whether the board has employed an adequate process to review and act on the proposed transaction. The $17 billion transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2015.

Explained this long ago it's all on here

HR

Rumor has it they are already coming in to Corporate to gut the place. Anyone with half a brain knows that Pfizer is ruthless and keeps no one. Adios to all at Hospira! Good luck finding another job without commuting into Chicago or Rosemont.

So...I am an engineer at the Rocky Mount, NC, site....how does it look for manufacturing support groups after a merger? I know from associates that Wyeth in Sanford NC was gutted.

Hate to tell you this, but likely all of you on the sales force are Pf*cked. Pfizer already has hospital reps that they can easily slide into your roles. They might keep one or two of your teams for specialty stuff they don't sell, but once they pick all of it up, they will fire your teams and be done with it.

Ask anyone from Pharmacia, Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis or Wyeth. They all have vanished.

Re: HERE COMES THE BOOM!

Pfizer aims to cut $800 million in costs in the wake of the deal, and analysts say the only way to get there will be through trimming jobs.

“I don't see how they do that without firing (employees),” said Ronny Gal, a senior research analyst at Sanford Bernstein. “Some of it will come from their business presumably, but I don't see how they would do that without taking out a lot of the cost structure of Hospira.”

You watch too much CNBC! Pfizer is dying a slow death. Hospira certainly is not going to save you. The bio sims are a long way off. Just like pharma, oncologists have a great lobby of their. Too lucrative a business to cut off too quickly.

No shit, Ronny! You are a freaking genius! Love you analysts, always able to vicomte up with the obvious.

I also was with Wyeth when acquired by Pfizer and got cut. They actually cut 85% of us immediately. Most of the reps that were kept were in product areas they had no experience with like vaccines and rheumatology. A hand full of other reps were kept. This was in keeping with what they did with other companies as well. In successive Pfizer layoffs reps who were from other companies were the first to go, so start making your plans accordingly. It takes a long time for these deals to close. Most of us waited for packages and stock options, but if you find a magnificent opportunity you should consider it. I have ended up in another pharma company for the past 4 years after waiting for my package. (I don't know how good your packages are)

So finally, some possible info on a trouble maker troll

You might want to switch your channel from the cartoon network as the last time I looked both stock growth and dividends seem to be doing well for shareholders for a dying company. At least Pfizer will continue to exist and Hospira will be gone!

Rather watch the cartoon channel. Both fantasy, but cartoons contain more reality than CNBC.
Believe what you want and live in your world of fantasy and I'll living in mine.
I don't give a rats ass about either company as I don't invest in either. Much better investments out there...and Hospira vastly outperformed Pfizer!
You sound like an intelligent person, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
The stock market is simply manipulation of money. It goes up or down for no good reason. Companies are valuated with no real basis except an "analyst's" evaluation.
I've made and lost a lot of money in the stock market. Don't shit yourself, Pfizer is on it's way to extinction... And good riddance to bad rubbish

As you alluded there is fantasy and reality, Hospira will be no more despite what ever success it had and Pfizer at the far end of that long list of rubbish pharmaceutical companies destined for extinction. Being a mid Fortune 100 company, Pfizer is right in the middle of corporate greatness, which is no lie nor fantasy!
