Why Xeljanz did not have Renvoq plan

To the Lotz groupie, go back to PC where you came from 2yrs ago that created this Cluster F we have now. If you dont know by now that Marketing drives the ship & calls the shot then you do not have a good understanding of Pfizer. He was the catalyst w Vic & John to end up were we are now. And he is same catalyst as VP given the new marketing lead (and future VP) just started.
Not saying he doesnt have skills, they are just not leadership skills. He needs to be back in a marketing cubical managing projects & trending projections like he did at Rinvoq launch saying it will only get a couple % share & not seeing any uptake (have the email from Dec when he said this) 6 months later, 15% Nrx trending to 500million for the year.
HE IS OUT OF POSITION FOR HIS SKILL SETS PERIOD. So do yourself & your family a favor & look at other companies for a better opportunity as you owe it to them.

Really liked John Miles but he was MIA for a while before he left. Maybe he wanted Vic's position when Angela left but Pfizer gave it to Vic instead so John decided to look elsewhere. Don't know - don't really care. I & I has been difficult because the new RBDs want to run the division like Pfizer primary care and the DBMs are too busy kissing their asses to tell them what's up. As for you, other than rant on Cafe Pharma do you speak up when given the opportunity? I & I is full of cowards who don't give input when asked because they are afraid of the blow back. Which is understandable, but if that's the case, just be a little introspective. Your rant about Jeff Lotz seems personal.

6 months 1% to 16% Nrx-- HQ leadership should be ashamed of themselves.
Landing Prime 6 months later is too late. You let them get a 6 month compounded lead that allowed physicians to thousands of patients to gain Rinvoq clinical exp & now most are seeing they are slightly better w the severe patient.
Entire Xeljanz leadership team needs to be fired for this oversight

Beign in I&I on Xeljanz side since launch 7yrs ago, my guess is that rep is just Foundation skill sets & not very smart with strategic business or key elements of what is needed for success. Probably a 30sec Rapid Powerful Relief Dine & Dash rep, just checking boxes in her own little world collecting 150k in the process totally clueless.
Agree she deserves to go down w the Avalanche in 2021
 




The TRUTH
Bottom line strategic vision, decision making & judgement are required skills/capabilities for leaders at all levels. When leaders are basic or foundational or do not have these capabilities, it creates poor business results and eventually collapse. It doesnt make them bad people just not good leaders. Far too often a person rises to a level of their greatest incompetence or weakest skill sets- either from good old boy network, affirmative action initiative, having buddies/friends pull them up ect, and then they are exposed. Being a VP of manufacturing, VP of Marketing, VP of Sales require completely different skill sets and development.
What you have might be talented people but totally out of position of their strengths & are in positions of their greatest weaknesses.

This is the case with I&I.
Pres should not be in that position let alone US mkt. Foundational in every area except BFF with the Global Pres who is not doing a goid job himself with the division.

Derm VP should not be anything greater than a DM. Awesome person, great humble guy just out of position as Vision & Strategy not a strength. Is a Solider not a Officer. Yes man.

Xeljanz VP should not be in that position or any sales role as he doesnt have the capabilities, Emotional IQ, Self Awareness, or intangables of a true leader. A project manager or giving orders in marketing are completely different skills.
His skills do not align to the job & is out of position to his strengths. Needs to be head of a task project team not sales.

You must not be a good Xeljanz rep or new because if you have been around anytime then you know the #1 complaint of Rhuem patients is PAIN. Taznuesnib is the BOMB w pain.
Head 2 Head data with Morphine & not only did it have greater pain relief scores it lasted 3x longer. RHUEMS will write more of this than Xeljanz for sure. Xeljanz is crashing faster than Trumps poll numbers

Even RDs Ed & John & Ken supported when reps brought it up that EVERY RHU in terr had several patients on it thru Abbvie free med program. Reps were totally discounted by a CLUELESS Head of Marketing (now our VP) and YES MEN RDs and young green new DMs who dont want to push back and super yes DMs.
Now it had our VP attention w 16% NBRX and RHU now having a lot or clinical experience while we never countered, saying Rinvoq is a little better in the severe patient than Xeljanz with not as much CV risk as Xeljanz.
Bang, overnight double digit share & pushing 600mil in sales first full year.

Very TRUE, I know my DM told both VP & RD about Rinvoq use every month in 2019 only to be blown off w silence or 1 email reply from VP saying our marketing analysis & data trends are not showing much uptake. No s h i t Sherlock as it was on funneled to Interum Care free drug program like my DM & reps told you since launch.
So arrogant he just blew off the field and RD clueless w any strategic skills or vision. Zippo and is a YES MAN w VP like all the RDs are.
HQ and mgt, we the reps told you so thus it is NOT our accountability but rather yours w not having a plan & blowing off reps as being stupid
 












Was the new VP so arrogant believing Renvoq low rx data as low writers, with zero clue of listening to rep feedback on every doctor using Renvoq interim care pt assistance program last 6 months?

All reps across nation was telling HQ EVERY RHU was using Renvoq even though not showing up in their micro metrics reports. Just blew the reps off like we didnt know what talking about because marketing and analytics feedback didnt support.

Result -Renvoq month of Jan had 8% Market Share
Now VP/Pres blaming field for being behind goal and a historical Renvoq surge. Now no way to recover.

WE TRIED TO TELL YOU FOOL!
REPS ACTUALLY KNOW MORE THAN MARKETING AND ANALYTICS BECAUSE WE TALK TO PHYSICIANS DAILY.
"Why didnt Xeljanz have a Rinvoq plan?"
Answer: just look at who was head of marketing at that time & the answer is self explainitory .
