Why Tom Griffin has failed as a leader and failed Bayer Healthcare

Driving morale into the ground on all types of employees- field and non-field

Poor communication- out of touch

Lack understanding business channels

Not letting others voice their opinions freely-closed door policy

General lack of knowledge of current market; patients, doctors, etc.

Lack of business acumen intelligence

Spending large amounts of money on wasteful programs and not spending money on the right ones

Lack of direction and accountability for sales strategy

Hiring prior Pfizer co-workers with no consideration for qualified applicants in house

Repeatedly LYING to employees

Pointing fingers at everyone but Tom

Creating a mess of the division and giving competitors a great chance to take advantage

Having been with Bayer over 8 years I am very disappointed as to what he has turned this place into. I only hope with time what has been done and be reversed and this company can be as great as it once was.

Who cares about TG and womens health morale?

Bitching about who your leader is won't change sales, making calls WILL. Suck it up, I think we all get paid well!

Eat it ya whimps!

What is really going to be sad is how much turnover will follow when other positions open up in this industry. Griffin has made it impossible to enjoy working for Bayer and drive business like everyone used to 2 years ago. I am so tired of employers taking advantage of employees and treating them like S!@# just because the market isn't so great, rest assured it will come back to haunt them.

Tommy boy has yet to claim one positive sales result that warrants he stays with bayer. Can anyone think of one positive thing he has done since coming here?? He is all negative,
and the result is everyone hates him. That is not leadership. Leadership motivates and the results will come. Too bad Tommy boy has zero successes to support why he should stay.
Mike - do the organization good and can him.

Griffin is dead wood and needs to be removed from this place. He is like the cancer at Bayer- someone just needs to cut him out.

Bayer is out of money for the year- way to go Tom spending all that money on IMPACT- worthless tool that makes us just like every other company out here.

TG has absolutely ruined this place and continues to do so. He is getting paid by Lifescan to run this place into the ground. I love how he sent the e-mail out about sales competencies-as if he were even competent himself. What a joke folks- continue looking for jobs folks-they are out there!!!

Pfizer here, looks like Tom is doing what he does best- not being a leader and not respected. Give it some time and he will be canned just like he was at Pfizer. Everyone at Pfizer thought he was incompetent and that is probably why he was the first of 13 VPs to get the pink slip. Good luck folks!

Tom,

On the behalf of Roche, I would like to thank you for leading Bayer the way you do. It has created a great environment for us to expand our market share and leverage our programs in a tough market. I, as well as many other reps here at Roche, appreciate all you have done and hope you continue to serve as the VP and make decisions the way you do and in the manner in which you do them. I look back at this year and I will always remember the year Bayer no longer became serious competitor. Thank you Tom and keep up whatever it is you are doing.

Beating you out,

Roche

This is what is truly sad, the competition knows the incompetence of our VP. What is even more sad is this is not the first time I have heard of this. PATHETIC! How long can TG bleed this place dry???

Fuck you Roche. If it wasn't for your contracts that force plan members to use your shit old technology products you would be 5th, right behind us. Also your sales reps don't work at all. If you want to see a Roche rep, hang out at the mall or at the golf course. Once Bayer reps are let go they will be THE most sought after reps to hire. Bayer reps work to the bone to make the shit bonus Bayer offers. Companies will seek to hire Bayer reps.... the most valued in the industry.

I have been with Bayer for a decent amount of time and worked hard to build up my accounts, earn my salary and bonuses. It is really disheartening to see what he has done to this place and to the people that led Bayer down the path to success. I can only hope he will leave on his own or be terminated, with Tom still here this place will never prosper and grow like it once did.

This isn't truly sad - you're just truly naive (unless you posted the original message and then answered it with this one - in that case you are truly desparate - hoping TG gets fired before he fires you)
