Who else is ready to Retire and get out this rat race?

majority of these old cardio reps should have retired, some can barely walk. You been here over 25 yrs, and yet still f complaining! I'm new and still trying to leave this division is terrible.

Age, 54. I have been in this industry for 24 years. I am definitely ready to move on. Only thing I will miss are the friendships I have made over the years.

Management has turned what should be a fun job into crap. Lack of intelligence, creativity, are to blame.

will quit and never look back

Believe me...you will enjoy retirement and not miss a second of the Novartis lunacy!

I’m in my 40s and saved very carefully in my 20s/30s and bought over a dozen multi-family rental houses. I’m worth about $7MM (before tax) and probably could retire or semi-retire, but I want to bank a few more years to make sure the kiddos get thru college and we continue to live well. I have a lot to be grateful for but I’ll be out of this piss pot by 50 for sure. The biggest drain is having to lie about my situation all the time like when my ABL asked me if I’d been saving for college. I know I’m not the only rep who has pulled this type of thing off but you can never tell anyone the truth.

Take advantage of low tax rates and convert pretax accounts to Roth to the extent you can.

You should do yourself and favor and let your children pay for their own education. It will help them build character, if that is important to you. You spoil them, and they will be softer than molasses when the tough times come.

Right, agreed. Well they aren’t getting a free ride off me and my wife. I had a bunch of student loans and grounded me to the reality that I need to work hard and right away. At the same time college is insanely expensive so I’ll probably hold them accountable for 1 yr or something depending on private vs state.

You shouldn't feel the need to lie to your ABL. It's none of their business. I would brag about it instead and let them know you can leave at anytime. Maybe they will LEARN from you?

You’re not worth $7mill. Stop it. You’re in debt.

Why would I lie on an anonymous board? That’s like cheating in the special Olympics. It’s a pre-tax, net worth. If I sold all the buildings with no 1031 exchange I’d be hit with cap gains that would take a mil right off the top. And no, it’s best not to tell anyone because I did in my previous job. Jealousies set in that bit me in the ass.

Worst analogy in internet history.

good for you.
All you are doing is managing the bank's assets and crossing your fingers they economy doesn't go bad.

I hope you understand your risk at least or you could end up like Jake on Sand Pebbles, wondering what the hell happened in your life.

These cranky fifty year old should get out and get their dentures-so sick of them talking about the good old days in the industry! We don't care how great access used to be! Go cough up mucus or whatever the hell us you do!
