When is the next lay-off ?

Sales people are getting ready to jump to Biohaven. Offers have been made. People would not leave Takeda if they would do something about toxic culture of massive layoffs every 2 years...and the CFO has already announced more layoffs for sales in 2021. This leadership thinks sales people are stupid and they have messed up this company!

Almost certain to be a major field layoff in late 2021 or early 2022.

Vyvanse, Amitiza, and Dexilant will be riding off into the sunset.

Add to that- Hematology franchise is getting smoked by Roche.

So while Christophe wants to portray that everything is going great- it is not.

While the patents going away for above mentioned products were anticipated, other items were not.

So Takeda is under extreme pressure to meet its publicly announced debt ratio goals and improve its lame stock price. So if sales and pricing margins are going down, only one way he is going to meet his goals.

And if any of us think he cares how he gets there, well.....

Total BS

Alan McKenzie NSM March 2009 "Let me be clear, we need each and every one of the people sitting in this room." Followed by a 28% layoff in 2010.

Doug Cole NSM June 2011 "Our best days are ahead of us. We made the necessary changes and we have the best of the best in place to be successful in our new potential based resource model." Followed by a 763 rep layoff in January 2012.

You see the pattern? Christophe is telling you all is well. Give it six months....

Because bag mixes will be combined and we don’t have any new primary care drugs to launch. The flogging will continue until moral improves!

The only ones left will have 10+ years of tenure or the brand new reps that replaced those that have left.
They'll squeeze every bit out of you with bag mix changes, combined salesforce products, larger territories, more calls, etc.
If it makes sense to hang around for the package down the road that's your choice. If you go through the interview process, you might be surprised at what companies are willing to pay. It may make waiting for a package moot if the pay bump pays for the severance in 2 years or less.
It's always easier to find a job when you have a job and it's always easier to negotiate a salary when you aren't unemployed.

Unless of course you want a 6 month paid vacation with no work or pharma crap. I respect that too.

True story. When Dexilant and Amitiza go away the Motegrity and neuroscience reps will have to be combined. That’ll knock out another 400 sales people. Might be worth waiting for a package…

This is the third time I’ve heard that bullshit. What we REALLY need is the best of the best in management and we sure as hell don’t have any that fit that description.
