?... we are puppets in this game just like everyone else, and at some point we will get discarded too. But for now we serve an immediate purpose for the company, and will be a valued asset for a few more years. Those of us who have been around for a long time out here have a very different understanding of the big picture...
For those who have been around a long time and are having a hard time dealing with all of this-please understand-or try to understand that the entire industry has changed, not just B & L. It is the same story everywhere. Get bought out and laid off-discarded. It does not make your "loss" any easier. I know. I was a "lifer" at another company that fell apart when changes came about. Lay offs in home office, R & D, warehouses were sold out to third party vendors along with almost every position except the janitors. Even the sales force started becoming "contracted" because they could pay less-no accountability.
Sorry. I know you never expected it. I know you are hurt and disappointed that the place you loved is gone. Sometimes change is good. As hard as it is to move on and find a new home, it is the best thing to do. The sooner you let go of the anger & hurt, the faster you will heal and put it behind you. I know from experience. Its funny, but if you will give up looking at this site and posting on it-it really will help. It took awhile for me and my colleagues who were dismissed, but as each of us moved away from here and found positive things to do with our time ( read a book-) we each quickly got over the anger. We will always remember the good old days and keep in touch with friends made. Like in divorce, the sooner you turn things around and become positive, the better off YOU will be. Staying in this knot of negativity is allowing Valeant to win again. Take care!
