What's going on a MicroPort?

My, you guys are pathetic. News flash: the business model for Wright oath was doomed for years, and was even more doomed the day that WMT spun them out. What did any of you expect from a division that WMT sold off at 1x revenue and no American company wanted to buy- some miracle turnaround? They're a meaningless competitor in a dying market. Blame the recent leadership all you want, of course they bear their share of the blame, but face it- the ship has been taking water since the early 2000's. If you know enough to come here and complain, then you know enough to get your s*!& together and get busy moving along to your next gig.

Don't think anyone is arguing that. Everyone with half a brain knew it wasn't a growth market and questioned the deal. The only people expecting a miracle were the Chinese. It doesn't change the fact that good people who were given no option as to what side of the fence they were going to land on when everything split are seeing their careers and livelihoods disappear. Leadership at a minimum should have manned up and set reasonable expectations instead of sticking their heads up their asses and bending over when the Chinese decided to set unreachable goals for a company that had no chance of being successful. It's easy to say everyone should just move on, but it's not that sime for someone who has spent 20-30 years dedicated to a company and has no real options for a new start.

Agree 100% with the comments about questioning the sale and failure of leadership. Everyone knows it's a sinking ship but newsflash: not everyone working for MicroPort is a dime-a-dozen sales rep, asshole. Moving on is a lot easier said than done for a lot of great people. They are loyal, skilled, and hard working. That hardly makes anyone here pathetic.

Sad. I think everyone was hoping when it didn't happen a little while back that we may have dodged more layoffs because of so many people leaving on their own. Other comments are right. These are good people. Assuming it all really happens this time hopefully everyone will land on their feet. And also everyone who has already been hit too. No surprise, but no one deserves this.

True, most weren't given the option. They can thank Joines, Mortenson, McDaniel, & Shankle (and those folks only) for choosing who stayed.

Don't forget the asshats on the other side who dictated who they were taking which left others here by default. Bottom line is no one who actually does the work around here had any say whatsoever where they went and those are the people getting the shaft.

Plenty of folks were switched to MPO by "political" means to beef up the team at the company. No one was given a choice where they went - we were all told where we were going. Several departments were completely gutted - depending on the VP's own desire to take along their go to employees. MM was the master at this....

That's one of the perks of being the boss- you get to make those calls. I'm guessing WMT wouldn't consider you for their open positions when the year was up? If you're so miserable and bitter, why don't you hit the road?

Facts are facts. Stating them doesn't make the person bitter. And as someone said before, finding a new job at WMT or anywhere else with the same pay and benefits is a lot easier said than done, especially when people have put in 10-20 years or more here.
