Yup a bullshit title for a bullshit individual- she has destroyed far more than she has built. The title implies "leadership", but sadly there's none to be found in her.
How could we have fallen so far from a true leader like Steve Young to a loser like her? All you need to do is look at the people above her for the answers- they are bigger losers than her!

It's tragic what happened to WP. I was let go in last round and can honestly say I am much happier away from that place. It was an outright depressing place to be. Having been with Merck for almost 20 years, I remember the good days. We fell so far from that peak that I am glad to not be associated with that mess anymore.

How sad that a loyal long-time employee is let go. And that what once was a terrific place to work is now a shell filled with bullies and bullied. Glad your doing well now and can reflect on better times.

When Ray Gilmartin replaced Roy Vagelos as CEO, he delegated too much power to the worst kind of managers---Ignorant, self-promoters with no ethics or respect for good science and sound research.

They thought success came with a greater "share of voice" in the market place, which meant hiring armies of sales reps who tripped over one another in the field. What a waste. Training standards went down the tubes, and "messaging" replaced product and disease knowledge.

And instead of owning up to the mixed outcomes of the VIGOR Trial, execs tried to minimize the negative results, and lawsuits followed.

A reputation taking generations to build can get destroyed overnight when squandering customer trust. And it takes years (if ever) to regain employee and customer confidence.

I hate to say it, but I'm smiling while reading these posts. As for someone who had to work closely with Parmee, only to be "let go" in the end, I can say, it's a beautiful thing to see how many people are seeing the "true" monster she is. I questioned myself on a daily basis because of her abusive nature and after reading this, it helps to know I wasn't a "poor excuse for an employee", but rather one of the masses that made HER feel incompetent.

Parmee = paranoid bully.

But it has to start somewhere, and we need something to make people feel good about themselves again- the morale is horrible and we continue to lose good people who are still leaving because of the horrible atmosphere. Getting rid of the loser management would at least start the process and would instantly make morale much better without losing anything. Shit canning Parmee, Hunter, Tillyer, Vessey, Hill and the rest if the losers would at least start the turnaround and would immediately improve morale and productivity. These douchbags need to be held responsible for the destruction they have created - now is the time, good riddance to bad dog shit!

Immediate morale boost if executed. Steve was bright and genuine along with Hartman. Coleman best standing who has delivered a pipeline. Still great people here and thankfully still here.

I can't believe Parmee is still here - the fact that she's a female VP is I think the only thing that keeps her around. She's s a pathetic, completely uninspired boss( can't call her a leader , there's no leadership to be found) . Disgusting that the useless pos Tillyer replaced a great leader like Steve Young with someone like her - pathetic! And why is he still employed, he singlehandedly destroyed MRL. Unbelievable that this crew of jackasses continues to still be employed - what does that say about the leadership of the division and the company ?
