Welcome to the Medtronic board

I hate customer service!

Well, not really but this damn system they are trying to learn is pissing me off. I am getting sick of waiting on hold for 15 and 20 GD minutes every time I call. That is all.

Well I knew that something was up when I got the info for the "Conference Call" on Sunday night. Never good when you get a conference call on the weekend. Damn, and the stock was doing pretty well. I am gonna go pray now :)

STAY AWAY FROM THE NEURO/STIM DIVISION. I WORKED IN THAT DIVISION FOR MANY YEARS. IT USE TO BE A GREAT SALES ORGANIZATION BUT NOW THE MANAGEMENT SUCKS.
THEY ARE GETTING AND WILL CONTINUE TO GET THEIR ASSES KICKED BY THE COMPETITION ON THE STIM SIDE. THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMPITITION FROM ANOTHER PROGRAMMABLE PUMP COMPANY UNTIL RECENTLY. WHEN THAT PUMP GETS FDA APPROVED, THEY WILL GET THIER ASSES KICKED AGAIN. THE REPS WILL BE LEAVING IN DROVES.
INSURANCE REIMBURSMENT IS BAD FOR THE PROGAMMABLE PUMPS BUT THEY ARE THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN AT THIS POINT.
BLEAK FUTURE IN STORE FOR THE NEURO/STIM REPS.

If you get your ass kicked it is because you suck

A better question might be: which division (if any) does this NOT apply to? It has been a while, but the people I worked with in the pain management area were good. CRM definitely has issues and ENT may take the trophy for having the worst senior management. Several divisions are breaking the law by failing to meet some of the most simple requirements of the FDA regs. They like to justify not following the regs by saying there is little or no risk to patients. I am still looking for the fine print in the regs that allows medical device companies relief from compliance as long as the risk to patients is low.

Most of Medtronic is old boy netowork fools. If you're on payroll you'll stay there for life no matter what your background or experience. Most are on call reps that service docs and use expense accounts as needed. Most swallow so enjoy.!!

Does anyone have info concerning clinical specialist position?
Car, salary, bonus, etc.
they'll make you an offer you can't refuse.....fuel card, car allowance 75 base, plus a bonus, more perks and benefits that you can shake a stick at, nearly 100K a year total. but you'll work like a slave and at the end of the day when you break it down, you'll sadly realize you're making about 20 bucks an hour given the hours you put in and the money you make. go sell avon, you'll make the 20/hour and have a life!

I am pretty new to this website, but I have been a rep. at Merck for a few years and not feeling it any more. I am interested in medical device sales, can anyone tell me where I should start and who I should avoid? I am interested in ALL feedback, thanks!

Help! I'm interviewing for a Principal Engineer position at their ENT division this week. I'm not liking what I'm reading in these forums! Any advice on how the ENT division is run?

Re: Medtronic Vascular Division

Any one working for Medtronic Vascular?

I'd like to know how the work environment is as of October 22, 2009 and what are some of the things to watch out for.

I have a job offer!

Thanks,

A

I have 11 years experience in the healthcare field. I am a Registered Nurse with 9 years of cardiothoracic experience and experience in the OR. I also have my MBA. I applied and sent in my resume for an open job posting for a CRDM-Clinical Specialist , but did not here anything back. Any tips for the next time I apply for a job opening with Medtronic?

learn how to spell correctly is a tip. The word is "hear" not here. Cannot spell with a MBA??

How long does it usually take to hear back from a recruiter? I am a recent colleges grad with a degree in molecular biology and worked my way through school as a nurses assistant and a monitor tech (I read EKG's for 12 hours at a time and yell if somebody goes into v-fib). Anyway, I'm not sure that Medtronic would even be interested in my experience considering the high number of applicants, but I applied for a few positions earlier this week that were recently posted and haven't heard anything yet. The job board still says that my resume has been received, but nothing since. If you can advise me on how long it usually takes to get a phone call I would appreciate it. I'm getting tired of staring at my phone hoping it will ring.

Hello, I am a career oriented 33 year old with a background in Respiratory therapy. I have worked as a clinical educator for the last five years and also have a bachelors degree in business. I would very much like the opportunity to become a CRM specialist, but am unable to get my foot in the door. Ive read up on a school in S. Carolina where pacemaker training is offered. Is this necessary to land a position with Medtronics???

You first need to know the name of the company you are appling for, it's MEDTRONIC - not Medtronics.

Hi...I am very interested in an Associate Sales Rep position MSB in San Diego that was recently posted on indeed.com. In reading the basic qualifications (very limited and broad) it sounds like they maybe looking for a a recent college graduate. Can anyone please tell me if I am correct in this assumption? I have over 8 years of successful B2B sales experience outside the med field. However, I really want to work in this field and want to know if I am spinning my wheels. Any idea how many applicants they receive for this type of job posting? Or any other tips you can offer for purposing this position would be appreciated.
Thanks!
