Welcome to Medtronic

I was shown the door at cov many moons back-funny how they all want to connect with me today on Linkedin.
Fuck you'all up the ass you scum sucking gutter slunts!
Can't wait to see lots of those VP's on the streets- and some regionals would look good in the begging line too.
Cov needs to die-it will stop them from buying and killing other companies-they are a virus and a plague. Maybe MDT is the cure.

My guess you'll see first round of layoffs before Covidien fiscal year end in sept, followed by before calendar year end for the markets and before Medtronic fiscal year end next may. Divestitures will happen along the way as businesses are identified as being outliers or poor performers.

Severance is standard like most companies. Given Covidien's high turnover, unlikely anyone will get a generous package.

Don't believe one word any exec says because every one is toeing the line, doesn't want to make waves or has no real idea what's going on and the top dogs are trying to appease the regulatory agencies.

If there are whistleblower actions, probably good for the company to sweep them under the rug. Could get regulators twitchy.

If the 980 was selling like hot cakes, Covidien isn't the type of company to keep quiet about it.

Covidien rep not having his usual swagger, nose high, and I'm the king of this OR attitude this morning. Surprised he is still babysitting his accts. I guess he needs to show his face more to maybe get referrals. It was like some one took the MoJo away from Austin Powers.
WOW! They always say "never to burn bridges".

Todd, that you?

Covidien will start lay-offs before Medtronic closes the deal.

Mansfield will be completely gutted, Medtronic doesn't need anything thats there --- but c'mon, 30% premium on the stock price, most folks will do alright. Time for early retirement.

Medtronic doesn't know how to sell businesses. Look at Physio Control and the remnants of the Gastro-Uro business. They hold on to businesses until they starve and then just dump the remains.

Valleylab will be good. Surgical will be business as usual. RMS should be fine. Peripheral vascular will be interesting, some overlap there but no clear leaders at Medtronic or the former ev3. There will be a lot of pushing and shoving to see what happens there, what reps stay, who runs the business. I'm guessing that Medtronic will split that division out completely from coronary and there will be a lot of positioning to see who gets each position from VP's on down. And there will be like 30 new VPs. Always need more vp's, lots without direct reports, Covidien and Medtronic both agree about that.

It is going to be nice to see MDT signage replacing COV on the buildings in Colorado.
