Vorapaxar group announces cuts today

So were all sitting at the meeting in dsllas today and the BUG(butcher from upper gynedd) and dervish EN announce future cuts that will take place beginning the first week of December. He said he was announcing it here to increase our trust in him. What a freaking joke! Handraisers options are going to be huge and they announced that we would all get letters announcing such today. The anticipated cut is between 40 and 50% of reps and close to 40% maybe 30% of CTLs

They also announced it could get deeper than that pending the results at AHA next month. Then they expect us to be engaged tomorrow to role-play. What a freaking joke this companiy has become this place sucks ass so bad

If they don't shut down access from EBOLA countries and close our southern borders, we will be detailing in Vorapaxar HAZMAT suits.

From someone who left Merck recently, please know there is life on the other side. There are jobs in Pharma, Biotech and non-Pharma. Dust off your resume, learn a new skill set or take the skill sets you have and pursue options where they can best be utilized. I am glad I had the 20 or so years with Merck that I did as they prepared me for the next career phase of my life. Do not stick your head in the sand, be ready, as change is inevitable and constant.

Hospital reps offer no value to the hospital other than occupying space in our cafeteria. You have no access other than providing the occasional feedbag. Get real!

i guess you've never worked in the hospital. I had 3 calls today that lasted at least 10 minutes each with attending physicians. its not what it used to be, but its not a total waste

Did any peeps give Riad the one finger salute yesterday?
We were all numb when they announced it. Then today was the worst ever- role playing, fake enthusiasm, etc. then the mAn of La Mancha tried to shed a few tears in front of everyone at the end of the meeting. Something about having a heart. This place sucks ass so bad you can taste it. And for those punk asses who say they've had scripts-we will see. Nothing showing up in sales yet. And what about the circus clown from marketing who tried to " energize" us? Guy sucked ass too. What a waste of time and money.

There may be 20 scripts as of today nationwide but our quota is around 40 per territory. The 10x2 is a marketing gimmick that sounds good. How hard can it be to get 10 cardiologists in your territory to write at least 2 scripts? Apparently unachieveable if there are only 20 scripts in the entire nation and the Butcher has casually announced layoffs.

What do you mean how hard can it be? I doubt you would want your parents on this drug with a greater than 55% risk of bleeding. And oh yeah, that includes bleeds that you die from.

How hard can that be to figure out jag offs?

That made we almost vomit to see kevorkian

Curious about your age. With 20 years, you are at least in your 40's. Maybe 40's is easier in terms of finding a job now in pharma. But if you are in your 50's, be prepared for a long wait...that is, if you ever get back into pharma. Every company is hiring young people with just a few years experience. The only exception are specialty positions which require a very specific background...and even then, if there are younger candidates, they have the advantage.

80% of you will be here come January. It's called musical chairs.. As for 'who budgets to buy a car just before Christmas?' ..well, you're a drug rep in a ravaged strewn laid off industry..everyone should have about $20K sitting in bank account labeled Auto Fund when laid off, next check company site to see what you can pay for your company (usually a good deal)...put some new tires, oil change, any other service they'll pay for..when's the last time you've updated the ol'resume or LinkedIn....or even bought a new tie...now go check the battery in smoke detector upstairs by the kids bedroom, Jesus I bet you couldn't tell me when you checked your wife's car tires air pressure...better yet, march into bathroom, look in mirror, bitchslap yourself and yell into mirror "WTF have you been doing these last couple of years!"-- I know my wife (and yours is thinking thinking it)..Good Lord, If you're a lady rep and has half kept it together (and you know what I mean there-don't make me explain fatty) over the years you should be fine...now where's my damn beer and dog gone to.

How can you people not sell this therapy. You have the full support of the Marketing & Medical departments at your fingertips to navigate and questions and/or issues from our customers. Please let us help you!! Patients need this therapy and you are the conduit!!

How do they expect us to role play tomorrow like nothing is wrong? Nice of them to get us down here for such great news. Our whole sales force is on the chopping block if the AHA unveiling doesn't show a benefit with IMPROVEIT trial. The year end shut down may refer to our sales force this year. Great team building exercise slated for tomorrow. Let's beat the hell out of one another and see who can convincingly detail the mock physician to get us one step closer to our 10 x 2 goal. I'm so excited! I think I'll go to the hospital and try to contract the Ebola virus to get out of tomorrow's festivities.

Sounds like the Hunger Games. Can I get some Merckie "Tributes"?

territories are already one up, aren't they? is this announcement going to go out broadly to the rest of the field sales teams? they just reorged two months ago!!

Don't be surprised. A year ago Multi Channel Marketing was reorged and 2 weeks later it was reorged again. The MCM VP didn't know about the 2nd reorg and she was ousted with 2nd one. The actions taken by Merck nowadays are despicable.

In my 40s and had 3 strong offers within a few weeks of leaving Merck. Albeit I do have a unique skill set.
