Very dumb recruiters

Good lord! Got a call from one of these condescending idiots last week. Between her munching on some type of food and telling at her screaming kids in the background I literally had no idea what she wanted or was talking about. How and why does this place em[loy these low level idiots?

Yup. Incompetent from the top>down. None of them have any experience, background or training in recruiting. When you don't know what you are doing you treat others like crap and intimidate them. Classic. This place a hell hole. PSS couldn't run a Kool-Aid stand.

I enjoyed a successful 25 year career with one of the top 3 pharma companies. 8 of those years as a Senior Region Director reporting to the VP of sales.

I recently took the early retirmrnt package and am financially fit. With several years to go before actual retirement, I decided to look for something with a bit less stress in the contract sales space.

I applied online for a district manager job covering my state with Quintiles and Publicis. Quintiles auto replied that my resume looked "intriging" and yes they mispelled intriquing and never heard from them again.

Steve Pino at Publicis asked me to complete a "virtuual one way interview" on the IPad where you video tape yourself answering 5 random questions @ 1 minute apiece with an hour glass dropping sand in the background. Then you are to submit answers through a downloaded app on your IPad. I said what the hell and gave it a go. First question was "If you could be a super hero, which one would you be and why?"

Needless to say I closed the IPad....Wow! Explains why contract sales has the reputation it currently enjoys.

Believe it or not it is even worse than the reputation. PSS is by far the worst and dealing with their moronic, lazy recruiters is intro into the dysfunction and apathy here. Whoever heads recruiting should have been fired a long time ago. Most unprofessional organization I have ever dealt with. They truly either don't care or care and are too stupid to stay out of their own way.

My experience also. Why would anyone subject themselves to such a moronic process. I guess the reason they do the video thing is the recruiters have no skills to assess applicants. The whole organization is the MOST dysfuctional I have ever seen. Treats all employees horrible. Beyond belief.

Another reason for the video taped answer to 5 foolish questions interview is so they can see what color and how old you are before they spend money to fly you to a face to face.

Hard to figure all of that out over a phone screen.

Heres my take!

If you have too much make-up, wild looking hair, too many missing teeth...blah blah blah it matters. Companies all want good presentation. As for race, does not matter but if you are a member a less commonly group (grey aliens) it just might be a big edge. If you are old it can mean you know how to work and are no nonsense. If you are young you have high energy, possibly decent ambition but can be too interested in playing and fast cash.

I do not agree. I am black and got an email from the recruiter after my video enter views that said "we our going with other candidates that are not black". Terrible resoponse

They certainly do use the video interview to discriminate against older workers: that is why there is a class action lawsuit against them for age discrimination!!

Against who? Any company who uses them????

Where is the class action posted?

Have had several videos with direct hire companies. Despite being 110% qualified I didnt get to the manager interview.
