"Stolen freedoms?" Seriously, the rhetoric is rampant. And btw, I don't remember reading that possession of automatic weapons is a "God given right" in the Bible. No one wants to take your handguns, but a background check to make sure you're not being investigated by the FBI for being a terrorist doesn't seem inappropriate to me.

Also, I have CCP but lax fedeal enforcement of the second Amendment means many states don't reciprocate with mine, I have list the freedom to protect myself and my family when I travel.

Also, I am now penalized if I choose to cover my healthcare costs, I can't see the doctor of my choice and that doesn't even scratch the surface because when you don't pay those taxes or follow those regulations they WILL come and take you away by gunpoint. Period.

Go look up the legislative proceedings of the 2nd Amendment. It's fact. I guess it is probably just easier to believe what you were told by your friends and weird internet sites that get you all hot and bothered for a new military assault rifle. Anyway. the 2nd amendment will get limitations probably in the next decade due to Supreme court re-interpretation. I really don't think anyone will overturn it outright, I am not even for that. But some reforms long over do will be put in place. I think the Australian model would be a good start. Just my 2 cents.

When restrictions are placed on gun ownership, then you will turn it in or sell them. You don't need me to come get anything, why would I risk my life on a gun nut? That makes no sense, like the rest of your argument. Besides, I really don't think the consensus would be about banning guns, I think it will look more like the Australian model where you need to register and pass gun safety courses in order to hold on to it. Those are reasonable restrictions and not outright banning.

Soon as the new Supreme Court is placed next election cycle the test case will be the one from Newtown parents seeking justice from gun manufacturers. The case is winding itself up through the lower courts now as we speak and the court will be forced to enact restrictions in as little as 2 years, give or take plus one..
