Update on the Downsizing Plans

Yes, it is good. I know other co packages and they don't compare at all!

Remember you are technically unemployed in June after the 60 days for the warn act. That is your term date. Severance begins 20 weeks and your done unless you've been here 10 yrs or longer. Not sure if they count the warn act months in that 20 weeks if they do then your last pay day is sooner. Not the worst and definitly not the best I've seen.

You people don't get it
YOu are on the company payroll for 60 days after you are notified
After those 60 days thats when your severance kicks in
SO if June 2 is the 60th day then you will have your severance check on June 3
This check will be for the 20 weeks or more depending on your years of service

Is it that hard to figure out??

I got laid off at the end of 2010 and can tell you that 2011 was the best year of my adult life! It actually took me six months to recover from the trauma of working at Novartis. I traveled, went to lots of weekday baseball games, went to the beach, hung out with friends, slept 10 hours a night, etc. Truly it was a great year.

Take some of your severance and head straight to the tropics! You are headed into a much brighter future!

The "Warn" Act months are not part of the 20 weeks min. So in essence, at the least is 7 months in total. Not to mention the $2000 or so they have given in the past to retrain on anything you see fit. I could've sworn the last layoff gave each rep $2000 to train at will. Learning money. Hey at this point, every bit helps right? Good Luck, especially to my friends in NJ. THe rumors are that the mushroom cloud will be over Trenton on 4/1/12.
