Trifexis Boom Over??

Its been about six months since Trifexis came out we are starting to see some clients coming back in for a refill but because of the economy and cooler weather most are switching back to Interceptor, we are trying our best to keep them on it but most of the time it is coming down to cost, even on our "good" clients. I know Elanco sent out checks and have a $10 mail in rebate but it doesnt seem to be enough to keep them. My main concern are the ones who are just not going to come in at all and go 6 months with no heartworm prevention. We are in Texas so HWP year round is needed and the business normally keeps us at a break even point through winter. This is going to be a big hit in the pocket book, who knows if we will keep Trifexis next year.

Don't worry, those dogs aren't going without...owners are just buying the Trifexis online instead. Tough times out there, tough times

No, we do not approve any online RX. I have tried to buy Trifexis from PetMeds just to see, they call stating the product is on backorder and they recommend Frontline and Heartgard.

You people are really stupid, do you not get it petmeds and other online pharmacies recommend and sell frontline and heartgard because its the only crap they can get. at least elanco is stopping diversion and by far have the best products on the market at the moment

Ok, genius, prove it. And no, you can't come back with, "but but buy my Elanco rep told me so". I'm calling BS. Yes, you can find Comfartis and Trisuxis on the Internet. Yes, there are Elanco reps aiding in diversion. Show me proof they're "stopping diversion". Show me a list of clinics that have been "cut off". Good luck

Pet Meds has a supply of trefexis that will never end..... that said they still make a better margin on FTL and Heartgard....damn they promote Advantage and Iverhart even more (BETTER MARGINS) the supply chain is as strong as ever. they will never be with out product. You Elanco reps running around spewing your BS about Petmeds being out of product is this weeks line of crap.

Step up an go out and sell the product instead of preaching this weeks diversion sermon and how your not part of it.... The track and trace program has been crack months ago.

umm, i did purchase it online and legally they cannot cut a veterinarian off from buying their products. most are scared of big pharma and don't want to spend the money on the legal battle

Yes I am! You wait in see. We are going to create a huge demand. And it works! No resistance like Spinosad!
Everything you need to know about Indoxacarb, the active ingredient in Activyl:
http://www.epa.gov/opprd001/factsheets/indoxacarb.pdf

It's not a new molecule, been in use for over 11 years. It's not an acaricide, so no activity against ticks. It's not an IGR, so no activity against flea lifecycle (eggs and larva). It's NOT for use in pregnant or nursing dogs and cats (per Activyl label). So, what's its redeeming qualities again?

All of you are being trolled by this Merck/Schering/Intervet rep. Activyl isn't what he/she's really referring to...they could care less about that product now. BECAUSE, Merck AH is currently conducting field studies on a 3-month flea/tick pill...I confirmed it today.

"Oh crap" is right.
