Training

Wow, the training department seems well respected by the sales force!? How does the training director still have a job? Am I missing something? Sales are in the toilet and the new hires are flailing in the wind ill equip to sell the test in the field. What is going on?

What's going on is that the test has run its course, it's not new and has a lot of cheaper, good competition. A lot of other factors have to turn in their favor now for sales to turn around. Unlikely to happen with all the changes in healthcare.
Flooding the field with newbies won't cut it. The idea that the problem is with the sales director is only a minor part of the challenge. The problem is stupid management with stupid pet tricks for a strategy. Get out now.

It is a too bad that the director is not respected. She just does not have the experience to help you succeed when you get out and sell. That alone is reason enough to clean house. This is not a teaching position or a power point job. I would argue it is one of the most important positions in the company. You have to be crystal clear about execution and what success looks like. It sets the tone for success. I saw some great success come out of the prior Directors training classes. She got burned out and lost her spark ultimately.

Agree. A thought...Hire a seasoned Director of Training over LP. LP, as Training Manager, would then spend her down time researching and understanding the unique differences of individual territories.

The training department also needs structure. So often important subjects go off topic and at the end of the day, there is very little taken away. LS is in a difficult position. The Training Dept must have someone, who understands the business. LP understands, but does not have the experience, which is imperative, to execute a successful training class. Until this is addressed, there will continue to be new reps, drowning with only a message. P.S. Maybe PH should sit through training. Wake up, PEOPLE!

Agree with everything you just posted, except there is no need for a "director of training" we have too many directors as it is now. LP's title as director should be pulled and she should focus more on learning about territory differences and spend less time roaming the halls of HQ.

It's sad that the 3 directors we have are clueless about the business.

Currently looking, interviewing and while sucking off the lipo teet for a little longer. Its always easier to interview and touch up the resume while you are getting paid to do it. Besides Im ranked pretty high right now so who says my sales aren't coming in?

I would have to agree with this post. While I haven't met the most recent director, I would have to say Lisa and Ken are way out of their leagues when it comes to understanding this business.

Nah. Keep Lisa and keep laying off others. That seems to be working well. She has so much credibility and her reputation among her peers is proof of the great job she is doing. I cannot believe she has kept her job through all of this. It is an absolute joke.
