Thoughts on Justin Lampropoulos

Fred is a solid businessman. He surrounded himself with good people and competent advisors. Unfortunately most are gone now.

As a father I feel sympathy for Fred. I cannot imagine the heartbreak of outliving your children. His surviving adult kids have their struggles too. Many tragic problems in that family. Justin is no business leader and a sad end to Fred’s legacy.

Fred has always surrounded himself with yes men and admirers.

Joe Wright, Fred’s brother-in-law, is behind this commentary. He’s a creepy sinister ass. He’a been waiting in the wing for a decade or more. Guy is the epitome of dumb. Walks around the office and pretends he is in touch with China. He isn’t. His colorful commentary about how great his teams are in Asia is a complete exaggeration. Joe is a complete fool like his useless brothers.

Joe's an ineffectual tool. Justin is an effectual fool. Would have been so much cheaper for Fred to pay Justin to not work.

This is getting crazy. I don’t know Joe, but the above sure sounds like Justin or someone in his inner circle who he has been put up to defending his honor and fighting his perceived enemies. Justin just cut a huge portion of our team and changed most of our territories. Sure seems likely that many of us would have real issue with how he treats his team and people around him. Wish Merit would adopt 360 reviews and the ability to provide honest feedback in a safe and protected way. Real feedback could be actionable and provide the data needed to help propel our company and leaders to the next level, instead of airing our dirty laundry all over the internet.

They have fully taken advantage of covid to rake the reps over the coals. Layoffs, cuts, no expenses, no support ... yet their “stock looks nice”. The salesforce has taken the beating, And physicians are noticing.

Yes. It seems like the actual people doing the work are the least considered. The optics are terrible.

nep·o·tism
the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.

cro·ny·ism
the appointment of friends and associates to positions of authority, without proper regard to their qualifications.

Plenty of both

No surprises.

A lifetime for Fred to build.
Five years for junior to tank.
Expensive lesson.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy ;)

Fred may have built Merit but he gave up ownership when he decided to go public. Merit belongs to the shareholders. It’s not an empire to be handed down.
