Thoughts on Executive Rep Promotions













Let's see.... Blacks, lesbians, ass kissers, and stupid people that do soap or shoe drives at Meetings. Does that answer your question?!?!

Of course that's your line. It couldn't be your own fault that you didn't get promoted, could it? Let's blame it all on something else. Here's a news flash for you: you are not very good at your job, which is why you did not get promoted. Just deal with that.
 




Oh the things I have seen people do to get ER during my 15 years. Sleeping with mgr/sleeping with director/sleeping with many, many drs/lying, cheating/throwing any and everyone under the bus. Such a noble promotion to aspire too. Other industries you get promoted based on SALES and being ETHICAL! Not here. The sleazier the better for this company.
 




We have team goals so to get "promoted" now a days is not based on sales results but "behaviors." Ass kissing and bs extra projects has been amped up more than ever.

Politcal kissing up and nonsense projects is now the norm. Individuals who get promoted and rewarded spend more time doing extra projects than they do selling. People get more credit for creating newsletters and doing projects than doing the job they are paid to do -- increase SOM.

In my area, the people getting promoted do the most projects and are liked the best by "management" and are the ones who always say they cannot see there customers. They get rewarded with extra projects since they say they cannot "see" customers and these projects are what give them the edge to get promoted over those who are fighting to see customers.

Promotions are a joke because they are given to people for projects and not sales.
 




I took last buyout-I saw process firsthand and what a bunch of BS. I tried to promote legit, deserving reps but the "scene stealers" as I called them, would snake their way in. Very disheartening to see the old farts (literally) grandfathered (again, literally) in; the reps with numbers in the bottom 20% get promoted due to "behaviors". What a bunch of bs garbage--so glad to be in an industry (technology) where promotions are pretty straightforward.

They tell us to get to know other managers in the area so to get pur name "out there." WTF?
So to get prromoted we now need take time away from customers to do projects people inside should be doing and try and get to know other managers in our area and kiss our managers butt? Geeez this job is exhausting and management should be spanked for not seeing what a mess and empty and worthless promotion system this has become.

I can tell by your awesome attitude why you didn't get promoted. You want more money and a higher title, but you're not doing anything but the mere basics of your job....and then you try and blame others for your lack of promotion. Give me a break. If we were all running around like chickens with our heads cut off, self-promoting, networking, pumping up our LinkedIn profile and connections, "getting results through others" and associated bullshit, the whole company would grind to a halt.

The B.O.D. might think that what you see on CNBC is "business" and they are dead wrong. Which explains why the whole country will experience 2008 (or 1929) again within a couple years. Great job, guys....

Sounds like the comment hit too close for comfort. If you read closely, there Are no comments about being disatisfied with pay or position.

The fact that getting promoted is based on everything but doing the job reps are being paid to do (selling) should be worrisome for all. Also, knowing management mindlessly continues to promote based on reps ability to complete useless projects and the ability to look busy is unbelievable and minimizes the promotions of those who were promoted on Sales performance.

Management do us all a favor and stop this insantity and stop encouragi g all these useless projects and behaviors. We are tired of having to oblige over zealous, fellow reps in these stupid, worthless projects that only serve to give them give so called accomplishments to get promoted. If we don't oblige them in these self serving projects we are not considered "team players" which makes us all want to get out of this state of crazy land. Every minute we have to spend on these useless, self serving projects is time we could spend on our business so do us all a favor and stop the craziness and start promoting on sales instead of looking busy.

Since the company is in such a mess and there is no real direction BS projects are created to keep people busy no matter how mindless they are. They are of no value but keep people busy and make them believe it's important.... the fools don't see through them.

True That we are the laughing stock of the entire industry and the blue blood die hearts still defend this joke of a company they are truly fools.
 




Lilly is the only company where sales results do not matter. Sales are not important yet we are given quotas.

There is no reward for doing good out in the field. No promotion, small bonuses.

The competition is sounding pretty good.
