The Elanco Exodus

Do not work for Elanco. They do not look at the industry as a whole and how they treat their employees. It seems like all the upper management thinks they run the best company, fun fact, the upper management has no idea what they're doing and it is evident. The goals at this company are heavily skewed to favor the south and northeast. Trifexis is the flagship product and they cant seem to rid themselves of this fantasy that it is still a viable product. If you are thinking of working here, make sure you are located in the south, it is the only way you will ever make money.

1) We are Not paid on commissions, it’s salary plus quarterly bonus targets. So how much you sell in general doesn’t matter, it’s how how much you sell vs goal that does.
2) In Those areas, we get goals set on those assumptions as well...so bonus isn’t getting any easier than others.
3) I seem to recall majority of people who won trip last year from NE and West Coast not the South or South East.

Sounds to me like someone is missing goal and seem to think All goals are relatively equal across the board....WRONG!

Elanco is just like every other manufacturer, you get paid to go to work (salary, car, expense account) then for those who can sell and grow a territory they get more for it via bonus.

When you thought that the voice of the employee was a statement, a bigger statement has been made.

22 sales openings across the company. Everyone is leaving. It's sad to see. All Jeff can say to us is hang on it will get better. It won't get better if people keep leaving!

10% of your sales force have left in the last 2 months.

Happy employees ensure happy customers. And happy customers ensure happy shareholders---in that order!

Elanco has it backwards

Hopefully we no longer need to worry about another restructuring. We can just consolidate the vacant territories. I can’t keep track of all the open PET territories, and Specialty lost a ton recently too. Surely we’ll save enough in salary to bump up the ELT’s stock grants.

Grow or go. Nothing unique about our fantasy that all clinics will drop our competitors products and embrace our iffy portfolio. Maybe we'll buy a few more legacy products for you to work your magic with. Rest assured, we'll give you a goal and if by some miracle you can meet or beat it, we'll throw some more change in your cup. Dance, don't hold still while you plày that violin

How many good people have to leave before the reality of mistakes are recognized?
Elanco has lost its way, Companion Animal used to be THE place to be, even under competitive pressure people believed in the future and leaderships commitment to fight.

Now people are looking for the emergency exit because this ship doesn’t have a captain, SM wasn’t perfect but he at least engaged in the fight and was unquestionably willing to go down with the ship if necessary verse point the finger as he jumped on a raft.

People aren’t bailing out over money, no one expects a miracle just a little pride.

VOE results that tell good leadership from bad is BS when a leader with record high VOE engagement scores time and time again is made redundant and will lose her job at the end of the month. Shame on you Elanco leaders.

And the leaders that have destroyed our US Sales culture (JL) will probably get promoted.

“Ive been a Rep”
“Ive been a DM”
“Ive been a ….”

Dressed in the skin, the wolf strolled into
the pasture with the sheep. Soon a lamb
was following him about and was quickly
led away to slaughter.

More layoffs. Is Elanco done with layoffs? Of course not. How many reorgs have been seen since the IPO? It seems the cuts take place twice a year now. Next cut coming in April. It is being planned already. Another will come as a nice Christmas present next year. That is the pattern. Anyone left seems to be looking for new jobs elsewhere now. Worker bees know the pattern and the future.
