Wonder how many people actually are practicing this "new AZ tradition"? Half days are routine for me, but I am too scared to do the all day thing. I am content with half days, so good luck to all doing the all day deal.
 






I am really, really starting to enjoy the "All Day Lie" at AZ. In fact, I am starting to enjoy it too much! I am going to try and ween myself to just one "lie" per week. That way, I will just have 4 days to fake calls. Man, I am getting lazy as hell!! HELP ME SOMEBODY!
 






Just got up and decided to practice our new tradition today! I just can't go out and hit the Symbicort trail today! I've done it a couple of times this year, and each time it gets easier. Happy Friday everyone!

I am with you , the finally AZ fuck you is in place now , they have screwed me again and I am done , Friday's are all mine and a least two afternoon per week are devoted towards the little white ball.

Not the poster that you responded to, but I was let go in the "purge of 2012" and used my AZ severance to start my own business. You had better hope that your gravy train stays on the tracks because you have no fucking clue as to what it takes to survive in the real economy. I scratched and clawed, cut back on my family's lifestyle and spent countless sleepless nights worrying about the very real possibility of losing everything I'd worked my entire life to build.

After two years of busting my ass, my business turned the corner last year and is now providing a very nice profit and living for my family. I had the pleasure of working with many outstanding individuals in my 16 years with Zeneca/AstraZeneca. I also worked with more than my fair share of douchbags as well. You, my friend fall into the latter category. Selling? Your type could not sell a piece of pussy on a troop train if your life depended on it. Integrity? You thrive on lies, your job and very survival depends on it. But what do you care? As long as you can collect that nice paycheck for working 10 hours a week. But I have something that you'll never know. I sell myself, my business and my reputation every day of my life. And when someone hires me, I complete the job and they hand me a check, I take pride in the fact that I, me, myself, have built something truly outstanding out of my own blood, sweat and tears.

I do, however, have to work with my boss every day. Oh wait, my boss isn't some kool-aid drinking ass wipe DSM, stack ranking me and hammering me about my "metrics". I am my own boss. I control my reality, my future and the future of my family. The only metric I have to give a rat's ass about is the bottom line, and that bottom line looks real good!

Your inevitable response will be to call me a lying troll. Why else would I still be following CP? I'll tell you why. To remind me where I came from, to give some hope to some that still work for this shithole company that there is an alternative, but most of all to occasionally respond to shitheads like you. That, and the pure entertainment value. Priceless.

Looks lie our new tradition has really caught on! If there was some way to actually decide which calls were real and which were fake, my guess is that 80% could not be in the category of a "real call". I find myself slipping more and more into our new tradition. Management knows fully well what's going on, but they know they cannot confront this because of it's massive scale. They know that w/o us, THEY have no job! This has become a perfect silent arrangement between us and management! It just couldn't be any sweeter!!

This is so true. The faking of calls and lying is so imbedded in big Pharma that it has now become acceptable. A Catch 22 that in order to end it the leadership would have to admit that they tolerated it on such a grand scale that they had to know what was going on. And if they fired someone for this then they open the company up to massive discrimination and false termination lawsuits for if they knew that so many people were doing it then how could they justify holding the fired people to a different standard. So it will continue and get worst to the point where only the honest people will be punished for not meeting their metrics.

That way when I stay home, I pull up that docs signature and trace it on my iPad! Brilliant. I have 3 other pod mates so no one knows what is coming in when or who signed for what!

As for as milage on my car, I just run to the beach a little more.

AZ has GPS in your car and your laptop, just like the trucking companies do and virtually every other corporation and government agency providing auto fleets. Face it. They track you, it is virtually free to do so. If you are not driving the car and making calls on MD offices, and if the MD is not signing for your samples when your car is supposed to be there, they have you by the balls.

Everyone offends to one degree or another. Get on the radar, piss off the wrong guy, and AZ has proof -- stand up, no way to deny it proof -- about where your car and where your laptop is every day. Hell they don't even need proof in most states since you are employed at will.

I even found a voice recording program in my computer that booted up every time I started the laptop, so they may be listening to your calls too.

I would, if I were paying the big costs associated with hiring an Rx rep. Wouldn't you??

You are in fact employed at will. They can and will fire you with no severance, at will. My advice is to stay off the radar and collect the paycheck and benefits and get your life quality on evenings and weekends, short term. When you have enough resources to get a real life, then get one, because you do not have one at AZ.

Of course, my iPad will be with me to record my "calls"! All of you complainers and moaners and groaners out there, relax and be thankful we work for such an employee focused company that embraces our new tradition!

Must admit I enjoyed my day off as well. I faked 7 calls and got a late sig just to make it look good. Yes sir, our new tradition is nothing short of wonderful!
 






Again, I don't disagree with the sentiment, we are all slackers and the industry does this everyday. But you don't don't talk about it. Like Fight Club. First rule, you never talk about faking calls, let alone brag about it. Why do I think the OP is a douche, beside for breaking that first rule? Because clearly by looking at the time stamps and writing style on the various responses he is replying to his own posts again and again, trying to convince himself that he is the smartest guy in the room. Chill bro, you don't need to convince us by pretending to be a chorus of folks celebrating your "new tradition." Just do your thing and hope that Tyler Durden doesn't punch you in the mouth.
 












It seems that the All Day Lie tradition at AZ has more than caught on. I know we all lie about the majority of our calls, but I think the % of fake calls is getting higher and higher. My DM has made little comments about making the "metrics work whatever it takes". In other words, you have management's blessing to fake away. This makes me feel far more secure in faking calls. Management has come to realize that faking calls is necessary to survive. Something we have known forever.

When you think about it, it's just the reality of our business, and now it's the norm.
