Yes I am an Executive Senior Sales Representative and damn proud of the contribution I make every single day in the field my friend. I have been in the oncology market for 28 years and have an excellent reputation with my clinics and they respect and trust me tremendously. Because of my impeccable reputation they listen, learn and incorporate the drugs I represent into their practice because I bring immediate value to their patients and I’m damn proud of that, and get paid handsomely for it. It’s to bad you envy me and only wish you could be like me, but not to despair, if you would permit me the access to your offspring I will teach and mentor them to be an outstanding contributor in the community like me.......

OK, let's assume what you say....you are a 28 year rep in Oncology who knows how to sell and provides a service to their providers. HOW MANY MORE REPS in Oncology or anywhere else in pharma can say the same thing? Most pharma reps are signature surfers and lunch caterers who make no difference in patient lives. You're the greatest I agree for a second. However 99% of reps are useless. Hey buddy the most popular thread on here is "the all day lie" does that tell you something? Pharma sales is a dead end mindless job we all know it. Yeah I know what I am and I don't care. This is the greatest gig one could have. Busted. I am a hypocrite that made far more than you intimated. So, guilty. Retired...well before the layoffs, children. My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected. And now, trying to repent. Please allow me too do so. I am giving back every day working with people with barriers or disabilities in the health care system. So hate me for a common past, but not today.
With that said, our corporate executives are hypocrites of the ultimate higher order. Their behavior is diametrically opposed to consistent, moral and ethical behavior as seen in how they control power to pay themselves excessively by any standards and comparisons around the world. Hundreds and hundreds of multiples removed from what reps and managers make in even, cash rich pharma.
What they pay "themselves" in corporate condoned, collusion under the guise of staying competitive or claiming exceptionally rare skill sets is reprehensible. They, our corporate elitists, are changing the very moral fabric of our country in bad, cheating is ok culture, type ways. I've researched this topic exhaustingly. And I land on this conclusion based on thorough study as to where we were in the 1960s to where we are today, 2020. It has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders, screaming, rightly in my opinion about this issue. I came by this truth by learning what things can truly tear a culture, a society apart. I'm a fiscal conservative. I'm far removed from a socialistic philosophy but this is massive hypocrisy.

I agree with the main paragraphs. If I understand the rant your saying our corporate exec. are paid a lot under the wrong pretense or parameters. And your trying to say it is a very bad example. Probably right. But it's everywhere good soldier
I have taken the last few weeks to process this layoff. I survived, but a great partner did not. This person was a far better rep than myself, and actually worked pre and post Covid. I am a slouch, and I will admit it. So why did I survive and this person didn’t? I think it’s pretty simple. There is nobody better at kissing ass than myself. Yes, I know it’s disgusting, but I really believe it played a huge part in my survival. Also, I am an expert at the ALL DAY LIE, so I am able to give them what they want, and enjoy a lot of time off to relax and kick back. The time off enables me to recharge and enjoy my family.
The lesson here is obvious. Learn to do whatever is necessary to make your manager believe you are a “kool-aid sponge”, as I like to call it. Then you must embrace the ALL DAY LIE! The combination of ass kissing and the ALL DAY LIE is unbeatable!

Well the truth will set you free!!! But now that you have admitted to your weakness, do something about it!! Change can come if YOU want to, so do you want to? If you are a father, practice what your preach to your kids, its nice to admit, but you would be the better if you changed. Look in the mirror my friend and truly look at yourself, by what you say is true, then you must have some guilt and self pride to change.
