Thanks to Trumps failure with covid we get layoffs

And you are truly a moron. So trump inherited the strongest economy from 8 years of failure? More spending, no GDP gains, just deal with it bc it's never coming back-door people on food stamps, etc, etc. I suppose you believe in unicorns too, lol.

Moron? Unicorns? Again, look at the data. The Obama adminnled to consistent GDP growth of about 2% and consistent job gains of about 230k per month for his final 6.5 years, turning around from the recession he inherited. GDP growth was positive, but slower than we all hoped, but this began to accelerate when we reached full employment rates.

Trump's economy enjoyed a higher level of GDP growth, after inheriting an unemployment rate closer to full employment, but saw slower job growth with monthly averages near 200k (lower than the 230k average under Obama) before the pandemic. The same with wage disparities between the haves and have nots Spending levels have increased significantly under Trump, pushing our deficit to record levels. This is the record before the pandemic. Layering in his bumbling of the pandemic is a whole other story.

Instead of responding that us "morons" should just deal with your "alternative facts", spend 30 mins on a real, non-partisan government site to see what the data really says about our economy. I know that you'll never admit to being wrong, but I just pray that folks like you wake up to reality one day.

oh yes, because higher taxes and more regulation encourage people to spend, invest, and work harder, right?

If you think Democrats are good for the economy, you’re a stupid muthafuka.

Business 101. Obama inherited an economy that had nowhere to go but up. The reason for for the economic downturn (great recession) were many: The Fed keeping interest rates artificially low, Policies from the Clinton administration allowing people to buy homes who really couldn't afford them, those dumb asses getting into variable loans that eventually came due, and corporate greed. Companies like AIG allowed to invest in derivative investments they didn't understand. Corporate bailouts. Wall Street bailouts. Obamba had nowhere to go but up. He was a mediocre leader at best. Nothing racial about that comment, that's what he was, average. What did he do to help minorities? Nothing. What did he do to manage foreign affairs? Nothing! Where you aware that he won the Nobel Peace Prize? The highest honor a human being can receive. Do you know what he did to earn that? He gave one speech on nuclear proliferation. One speech that no one heard and that had no impact on anything. Yet he won the Nobel Peace Prize?? Are you kidding me? Obama was given a pass due to being the first African American U.S. President. No one called him homophobic when he opposed gay marriage. Then, as some of you remember, his thoughts on this issue "evolved". Funny how that evolution happened so quickly. Trump was and is not the issue. It is systemic political and media corruption that is the issue. Whether you are a democrat or republican, our national culture should be in the middle of the political spectrum. If not, you will see another civil war via civil unrest.

Wow..revisionist history. You forget W Bush and his policies and his war that was totally ridiculous — the stock market literally collapsed in 2008 —Obama inherited a load of crap from Bush and the Republicans - do you forget that Romney did not want to bail out the auto industry? What might have happened had he won.

OK clown. You lay out things like you're some all knowing scholar. If you think that Obama simply had nowhere to go but up, you have no real understanding of economics. The economy could have gotten substantially worse, to significant depression levels if very direct actions were not taken to counteract things. I know that you'll never be able to get yourself to see any positives from Obama and I'm ok with the racist lens you live by. The simple truth is that our economy was in ruins, was going down a path to recession levels and was turned around by very strong, steady efforts. Yes, this included actions by the Fed with QE, but also driven by the bailouts, targeted investments, sound policies and yes, regulations, particularly those placed on the financial industry.

Bringing up things like gay marriage and his Nobel Peace prize are just efforts to distract from the truth. You're completely lost on your comment about what did he do to help minorities. As a black man, I understand the 8 percentage point reduction he drove in black unemployment. I understand very distinctly how we got to a record low that Trump takes credit for. The thing that pisses black men off the most is when someone ignores the work done by a black man and then tried to take credit for it themselves. Again, look at the BLS stats and see where the improvements for black (and other minorities) started to take place. See how much it dropped under Obama compared to the final 1.5% drop that happened under Trump and you tell me what was done or not done for minorities. This is not to mention rising racial tension, issues my kids experience from kids in their schools, increasing financial gaps, etc... It's no surprise that under Trump and his bumbling of the pandemic, who is hurt the most - MINORITIES!!! What the hell do we have to lose - our jobs, our savings, our lives.

It's also amazing how you go through hoops to discount Obama's economic accomplishments, when Trump's pre COVID economy was simply a continuation of what happened the 6.5 years prior, actually a slow down in job growth from Obama.

Keep talking the bs that you keep talking. This is why you'll end up in a sad place in life complaining that the leftist minorities and crazies ruin your life, when in reality it's your warped perception of facts and the real world that's keeping you down.

When was the last time you heard a Democrat say something like " we want to create a system for opportunity. Where people can rise up and define their own future". Never! What you here goes something like "We need to tax others to create entitlements that will promote equality. everyone needs to be exactly the same regardless of personal decisions or being held accountable". That never comes from a democrat. So if you want to like a sub standard life where the government gives you what it feels is "just enough to keep you quiet" then all the power to you. I want to be able to create my own destiny without having to pay taxes through the nose!

All you AZ trump voters, Are you tired of winning yet. Maybe if you send him $$$ to overturn our democracy, he will win and save us and not his rich friends. You have been conned by the Donn. We get Pink slips he/his friends gets pardons!!!!

Enjoy your unemployment, payouts only last 6 months after that hopefully you have lost enough weight and are good looking enough where swinging around a brass pole naked will attract hard working Republicans willing to stick a few bucks into your garder belt so you can afford to buy baby formula.

This dialogue is toxic and childish and we have almost all been guilty of this during the past 5 years since Trump set this tone with his fellow Republican candidates during the primaries - because it works him. It clearly doesn’t work for the rest of us. Grow up and Agree to disagree. If we are so convinced and secure in our beliefs we wouldn’t be so threatened by others beliefs.

You want a country with no government to levy taxes??? Move to a place like Somalia or maybe even Yemen. And take your rifle- you’ll need it. All of you “no government people” are just idiotic. Do you use the roads? How about electricity or water or the internet? You want this stuff to all be private with no government regulation?? Good luck with that.

Fuck off until you make sense.

KEY FACTS

Steve Bannon’s indictment, which claims that he, along with three others, defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors to the “We Build the Wall” fundraising scheme for personal profit, makes him the third and final campaign manager involved in Trump’s 2016 election to have faced criminal charges.

Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s campaign head starting from January 2015, was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges for grabbing the arm of Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields in March 2016, whose allegations, though proven by video footage, were later dropped.

Lewandowski’s charges were dwarfed by those against successor Paul Manafort, who was sentenced to more than seven years in prison in 2019 for a slew of charges from Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference, including tax and bank fraud, and conspiracy against the United States.

The Mueller probe resulted in 100 charges against 34 people, six of whom were Trump associates, while the other 25 were Russians accused of interference.

Rick Gates, a Trump campaign deputy, was sentenced to 45 days in jail on a plea bargain for charges of conspiracy against the U.S. and making false statements; Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security advisor, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, though his case is currently in limbo as the Department of Justice is attempting to withdraw his charge; and George Papadopoulos, Trump’s former foreign policy advisor, was sentenced to 14 days in prison with a year of supervised release, for lying to FBI agents about his contacts with Russian intermediaries during the 2016 campaign.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer, was sent to prison in 2018 for tax evasion, fraud and lying to Congress about his dealings with Russia on behalf of the president, and has pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations for making hush money payments to women to keep quiet allegations Trump engaged in extramarital affairs.

Trump recently commuted the prison sentence of longtime advisor Roger Stone, who was also convicted on seven charges, including lying to Congress and witness tampering, as part of Mueller’s investigation.

Then, there’s a number of slightly less central, but still Trump-connected figures who have been charged or jailed: Alex van der Zwaan and Konstantin Kilimnik, associates of Manafort and Gates who were charged with making false statements and conspiracy to obstruct justice, Sam Patten, a lobbyist who pleaded guilty to illegally funneling foreign money into Trump’s inaugural committee, and two associates of Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal attorney, who were charged with campaign-finance violations.
this is a short list of some of his criminal cartel! He’s a crook!!!! #facts over fake news

You're an idiot. The Mueller report also concluded there was no evidence of collusion. They did not leave any stone unturned and after two years found nothing. Brennan and Clapper under oath in sworn testimony said there was no evidence, yet they then went on CNN claiming how much evidence there was etc.
Of all the people charged, how many actually were involved with Russia? Nobody. Process crimes, most of which were phony. The FBI even said they believed General Flynn was telling the truth, yet they still went and questioned him again with no reason other than to try and get him in a perjury trap. Common knowledge the info has been released. Those indicted were indicted for things that had zero to do with Trump. but you're an idiot, so you wouldn't know this. The entire Russia Hoax was based on the Steele Dossier, which was paid for by the Clinton campaign, the Russian operative that provided the bogus info to Steel even said it was Russia misinformation... Who got played by Russia? Clinto and the Dems took the bait and caused the discrediting of the election for Putin. Wait until the Durham report comes out. The entire Russia hoax was a plan to force Trump from office, or get him removed.... Btw, almost all charges from Mueller were just to give the impression he found things. He didn't. The report says so. Almost all charges related to Russia collusion etc. have been dropped. Calling you a r***** is an insult to r*****s.

What might have happened had he won.

Bush started the auto bailout. It wasn't Obama. But while we're at it, Obama finished it like a mafioso.
GM was not going away. Obama did not save GM. GM had filed for bankruptcy protection and would have re-structred, and been bought by outside investors. This process would void all existing union contracts, and that is why Obama stepped in. It was about pandering to the unions and being able to step in and seize Gm. He gave 50% of GM to the union...
Bush announces $17.4 billion auto bailout

Most of the collapse in the economy was due to the Democrats that failed to recognize the impending crash to real estate/loans due to legislation that forced banks to provide loans to people that could not pay them back. Others took advantage of the cover provided by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and were predatory lenders. Bush raised the alarm, as did John McCain, but Dems like Barney Frank said Bush was trying to scare people and cause panic.
"In 2006, a Republican-led regulatory overhaul of the mortgage-financing firms, which both went through multibillion-dollar accounting scandals earlier in the decade. The occasion that prompted McCain's involvement was the release of a 340-page report from the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight that concluded that Fannie Mae had manipulated earnings and violated basic accounting principles. It describes an "arrogant and unethical corporate culture" in which executives were more concerned about their bonuses than meeting the company's housing mission."

Obama's GDP growth is the worst in history. If anyone wants to try and say Obama was god for the economy, please explain how Obama said, "Those jobs aren't coming back...' "Get used to the new normal." Obama with his lack of understanding of business and economics, all he had ever done prior to politics is be a community organizer and a guest lecturer, was arrogant enough to think it couldn't be his policies, that it was beyond his control and this stagnant economy was the new normal. When Trump professed he would grow the economy and create more jobs, Obama's response was, "What? Does he think, he has a magic wand." --oops. That comment didn't age well. Prior to covid, the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years and record unemployment with African Americans and Hispanics..... Facts are facts.

I hoped you would touch on this - the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977.
“The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), enacted in 1977, requires the Federal Reserve and other federal banking regulators to encourage financial institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they do business, including low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods.” This was the genesis of the housing crash in the 2000s. No administration from Reagan on took the necessary steps to reign this in. We have a name for people who can’t afford to buy a home; they are called renters.

Post #37 is offended by facts! More examples of Don the Conn below. Dispute this poster #37 more to come. Lol

WASHINGTON – A New York judge’s ruling that President Donald Trump must pay $2 million to charity appears to be the final chapter in the saga of Trump’s troubled charitable foundation.

State Supreme Court Justice Saliann Scarpulla of Manhattan ruled on Thursday that Trump pay $2 million in damages to various nonprofit groups to settle allegations that he and his family used the Trump Foundation to further his political and business interests.

Though Trump admitted the misconduct in court documents
