Systagenix/Wound Care

I am interviewing. In pharma with no hospital experience but made 100k last year. I want to get into device and get experience in hospitals. Should I take this job?

What region? North, South, Central, West? You are currently making what systagenix reps make and the majority of systagenix reps have zero hospital business however i guess you can take the job and say you now have "hospital experience".

If you take it just know it is simply a stepping stone to get hospital experience so you can move on to real device. Also know they will say you can make 150k here however it will not happen. Also know they just increased everyones quota. They continue to have turnover issues so what they decided to do was, no longer backfill open territories and take the quota assigned to those open spots and roll it back into the entire sales forces quota. If they continue this practice they will continue to have high turnover which will lead to higer quotas for everyone else. This is the absolute dumbest fucking thing we have ever heard of any company doing. We understand they have goals to hit but increasing quotas when people are already not making money is just dry ass rape to the reps.

Read these boards and believe it because it is true. If you take the job be prepared to leave after a year. Good luck.

Perfect Plan:
1- Acknowledge growing pains as reason for the very high turnover
2- Give disgruntled reps who couldn't find other jobs a decent commission plan after over a year of never making money
3- Have nice meeting to paint pretty picture and give reps a sense of hope.
4- Take away all positive signs of reps finally being able to make money this year, now that its already May. (Hence, another year of being screwed)

what ever happened to all those great ideas JP spat out at the regional meetings a year ago? Nothing ever came of any of it. surprise...surprise. (not that I think its his fault) This company just has no resources, pipeline, or strong executives who know how to get the job done!

Dont work here, period. Its the pits.

No matter how many times it is explained to me I still don't understand why they are screwing with the numbers. It is just so frustrating to work here. The incompetence is stunning. Either that or they are just lying and being deceitful. Either way it sucks. I went from happy to out in 5 minutes last week. The explanations are idiotic. I don't think they understand it.

You nailed it. The truth is they do not understand the numbers either. To be honest they do not understand wound care disposables and how distributors work and when they report and how to pay a comp plan based off all of these variables.

These are KCI people who managed a one trick pony product who owned the market (because of zero competition) that thought they could do the same things here. This is not a business where someone uses a VAC then bills for it and the reps and company get paid. You are talking about a business where 90% of the sales are based off distributors reporting sales that happened a month before. They guy who does all the numbers has said it is not an exact science and there are major problems with the reporting.

The last part to this mess is they keep saying "we have a number to hit". No shit assholes. We get that. Every sales company has a number to hit however nobody has ever heard of a company taking vacant territories and not filling them, then rolling the quota assigned to that area back to the entire sales force because they say "we still have a number to hit and vacancies do not help us get there and by not filling them we save money on salaries, car etc..." This is how it was explained to us. Yes folks our leadership really said this. They are some real winners...

They thought turnover was bad before this. just wait....

Who do you think is the best regional manager? The worst?

They are all equally worthless. The majority should never have been managers, they all suck off both JP's and no matter how awful things get they still smile and tell the teams to focus on conversion tools and good things will come. We all admire team players but at some point you need to remove your head from your cornhole and stop blowing smoke up your reps asses. Its all starts with the VP. He tells people what they want to hear and refuses to admit the truth. This company is closer to failure than it is to achieving real growth. Not paper growth but actual market share growth.

very well said. this company is not profitable, and will be history shortly.

Just keep them coming, you get a big one and commission dollars will follow. Just make sure to load your win in SFDC. Great job!

A big one? I would need to close a deal the size of my entire region quota to make any money. If I sell 20k worth I only make 2 grand and after taxes thats about 1k. Not worth the time.

$1,100 for the month or the year? There are a lot of small Mepitel accounts out there. Easy pickens though. Good work!

Month or year it does not matter. If it is per month that is 13k annually which pays $108 bucks per month. What you people dont understand is the hospitals that use mepitel barely use more than a few thousand dollars of it per year. This bullshit about 25 and 50k accounts are flat out lies. You will be lucky to get somebody to use 5k of AT per year and with the comp we make on it, it is not worth selling it.

That's the truth, no money to be made here, it's all in the comp bucket. You're better off selling adaptic.
