Stay Away From this Piece of Shit Company

Serious responses only please. This company has contacted me for an interview. What is the ballpark base etc? Do they have a decent health plan, car option etc.? I am only asking b/c I am not sure if I should proceed or not. It honestly appears in my discussions, that since the management changes have occured, they may be on an upswing, but I thought an actual rep. for them may have a more realistic point of view. Any comments on RSM's are welcomed. Thanks so much :)

If someone tells you this company is on an upswing because of the changes in sales leadership, they are giving you the biggest line of crap. Never been good and now we are at the bottom of the barrel.

I will be interviewing soon. I also have heard that things are on an upswing and that the company was almost driven into the ground by the poor leadership in upper management. Fortunately the group in place now have much better track records and they understand sales. I guess it has been a rough road but everyone I have talked to is positive about the changes and wants to stick around and be successful here. I think I am going to go for it... much kCAFFtin big pharma!

They are going to give you anything you want to hear to fill the position. AND they do not have the financial backing that they told us the company had. Look in Yahoo! financials dated back to March. It all starts there. If you are seriously looking, go on the interview to practice your interviewing skills and see where it goes. Good luck with your decision. What geography are you looking at?

You've got to be kidding. They said that upper management in place now is much better in sales......what a joke. Guess it depends what they mean by "upper management".

I'm still with the company but am very concerned about the future and I am exploring the options that are out there. CRTX is much leaner and probably was too top heavy. Whether the current top mgmt is better or just leaner I'm not sure but where the funds are going to come from to keep this ship afloat is the big question. The guys at the top say don't worry, new funds can be got from wall street but I don't know who would invest in a company whose product does not have a hope of ever becoming profitable, now or two years from now. It is highly questionable if Zyflo CR could even be profitable after awhile.

To answer some of your questions, ball park base is probably 65K to 70K, maybe slightly higher is you have alot of experience. The health plan is good, BCBS of Mass, car options are Altima, Gran Prix, Camry. Three of the RSM's are new, don't know too much about them, the two RSM's on the west side of the country are nonintrusive, hands off type mgrs. I hope I've answered some of your questions. Think long and hard about joining. We will either be nonexistant 6 months from now or a real up and coming company two years from now. Good Luck.

Thanks so much for your reply. The base you mentioned is definitely low especially considering the large territory. The RSM seems very cool and hands-off (Texas RSM), but would appreciate any information on management style etc.

RSM mentioned bonus target at 27K and uncapped- is it even remotely possible with the product? Not trying to be rude, I just know you must have a tough road at times with the dosing/liver issue.

Also, did most of your team basically join because of the future opportunity, and not really to sell Zyflo forever? I looked at the analyst projections on zack.com, but they seem to hold as a buy- I am just not sure if the risk has any chance of becoming a reality.

How are they with expense/budget allocation etc.? Do they have a decent maternity leave if at all (just for future NOT current reference :) Are the meetings fun- the people, culture?

Sorry to be such a pest, but I have a big pharma opp. on one side that I used to work for and CT on the other- two polar opposites. I am happier in the entrepreneurial type environment, I just don't want to find myself out of a job in 6 months. THANKS SOOO MUCH for your help- I sure appreciate it :)

Only one person made bonus 2005 and 2006 does not look any better. Big pharma has better benefits hands down. 401k sucks. Fun group of people, however, if you have a chance of moving up in your current situation without the threat of a lay off in the near future(I know that there always is in this industry), then stay where you are. Why risk it? Reps are jumping ship daily.

I agree with the poster above. Right now the risks don't even begin to cover the reward. Better to wait until you have another opportunity. I honestly don't think this company will be afloat in 6 months and if by some chance it is, there probably won't be a need for a sales force. Just my opinion.

I disagree. I think this company is just starting to get things right and it is a good time to be here. There is money for at least the next 12 months and CR will be out within the next year. I will be staying because I could always get a "me too" job in big pharma!!

If you are asking about maternity for the future, you will want something with more stability. This is not the place. Did the RSM tell you that his boss just resigned and left the company on Friday to go to a better opportunity?Does that give you any idea what it is like here?

Yeah, and I was told there was plenty of money for 2 years when I was hired last year. As far as "me too," who gives a shit if you have stability in a job.

I have no idea about maternity leave but the quote of 27K bonus target is not true. That was suppose to be the target bonus for 2006 but after the initial launch period lasting till end of March, Q2 had only a target of 4K at 100% of quota and only a handful of people actually hit that 100%. To answer your question, bonus is uncapped but most reps will only make 4K to 8k for the second half of the year. The RSM you speak of I have heard is very hands off which is probably nice but I don't know if it outweighs the negatives. Zyflo CR has still not been filed into the FDA, so seeing it one year from now is very optimistic. It does have a different culture from big pharma but the lack of decent bonus and the insecurity of the company should probably sway your decision.

TEXAS RSM IS NOT HANDS OFF. OH, DEAR GOD! RUN LIKE HELL. HE IS A LIVING NIGHTMARE. PLEASE BELIEVE ME. NOT A NUTCASE OR BITTER. THIS MAN WOULD SELL HIS MOTHER. I WOULD NOT WISH THIS COMPANY ON MY WORST ENEMY. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS OUT THERE. EXPLORE THEM. MOST OF US ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING. FACT OF THE MATTER IS IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO SLOW DOWN CR LAUNCH WE ARE OUT OF MONEY. END OF STORY.

The Texas position is for Austin/SA/Waco- does anyone know why the girl left in the first place? Thanks to everyone for your posts- a definite help. Any additional details on the RSM from the most recent post would be great!
