It ain't over until its over....Obama now going after Inversions by calling for immediate legislation to stop the practice. This may drive down the share price and force ABBV to either increase again the bid or walk away.

This could get interesting.....

yes, its in addition to 3 wks per year. rumor is we may even get 5 wks as that is what ViroPharma got. Years round up, so if youve been here 3 years amd 1 day youll get 4 years.
 






Anyone see in the press today how much our CEO, former CEO and former CFO are getting out of this? $21 million pounds each for our CEO and former CEO and CFO is getting over $30 million pounds. Looks like the execs are getting insanely rich while we have to figure out what paying job we will get after less than a year severance.

A lot of press surrounding these inversion deals yesterday and today. Mylan, Walgreens, Medtronic, AbbVie all referenced. Obama asking for a May 2014 retroactive halt. So it may take many months for this to be finalized if ever.

I know that this is common, but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow. We have to find jobs is a shrinking industry, get transportation, etc. It really makes me think that the trio Flemming, Perry, and Kathy were brought here just for that purpose. Millions of dollars each is tough to see.

I'm thinking someone at AbbVie is very friendly with some of your execs who will be getting rich soon. So glad Obama is looking into this deal, the walgreen deal, etc. I'm loving it. AbbViedershin AbbVie. If this deal gets kaboshed you Shire people will probably be so much better off . You people seem to like your company. No one at AbbVie likes it, at least no one I ever worked with. They only stay because they have been browbeaten into submission. Gobama!!! Hope that Obama effs this up.

I would not assume that there would still be a need for the ADHD sales force. Insurance coverage drives the ADHD market which is over saturated. Adderall XR has had no representation for years and is still one of the most prescribed meds for ADHD. ADHD used to drive this company, but the new focus gas been on rare disease - look at the recent acquisitions Flemming has made.... All rare disease - which is a higher level sale than an ADHD med to a pediatrician, psych, or family practice doc. Selling market share is in an over saturated market is far less profitable than selling orphan drugs in a rare disease market. The European tax benefit AND the rare disease division is what is attractive to Abbvie and Allergan - the ADHD meds will make money with or without you - ADHD sales are more contingent on insurance coverage ( hence Texas !!!!! - am I right???). Don't believe the hype - you are not safe. Nobody is in this industry, but if you plan to stay in this industry - get smart - get into insurance/ managed markets/ government affairs OR rare disease/ orphan drugs!!!

I love how people post on here like they have the inside track on what's going to happen. Since the deal hasn't even been formally announced, I seriously doubt anyone, outside of the negotiations, has the slightest clue as to the fate of the ADHD salesforce. I would argue there is a definite need for our expertise with a pending product launch, in the same category and a new indication. Is it possible that this sales force might be obsolete, in say 5 years or so, yes. It would be the same story had we remained an independent company.
